Music Teacher 2025-26 - The O'Quinn Schools

Porter-Gaud is an Episcopal, co-educational day school serving more than 1,000 students in grades 1-12. The O'Quinn Schools of Porter-Gaud serve an additional 600 preschool students from age two through kindergarten. The O'Quinn Schools are seeking a passionate and engaging Part-Time Music Enrichment Teacher for the 2025-26 school year (August-May). Our preschools serve children ages two through Kindergarten, providing a dynamic and nurturing learning environment. Position Details:

Schedule: Four days per week (two days at the James Island campus, two days at the Mt. Pleasant campus)

Hours: 16 hours per week

This role will work alongside the current music teacher for the 2025-26 school year, with the goal of fully transitioning into the lead music teacher role in the following school year.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead engaging and age-appropriate music classes for children ages 2-6

Direct and oversee holiday performances for 3K, 4K, and 5K students (December)

Coordinate the 4K Mother's Tea performance (April)

Organize and oversee the 5K graduation ceremony (May)


Minimum Qualifications:

Experience working with young children (ages 2-6) in a group setting

Energetic, engaging, and enthusiastic personality

Strong vocal skills and ability to play the piano or another instrument

Ability to work independently and effectively manage a classroom

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


Salary: Commensurate with experience
