Part-Time Library Pages ! As a Library Page, you'll play an essential role in maintaining the order and accessibility of library materials while contributing to the community's access to a cooling center during the summer months.

Key Responsibilities:

Shelving Materials: Accurately sort and shelve books and other library materials alphabetically or numerically. Maintaining Organization: Regularly check and read shelves to ensure that all materials are in their correct location and re-shelve any misplaced items. Unpacking and Packing: Handle boxes of books and library materials, ensuring they are properly unpacked and packed for shelving. Public Area Maintenance: Help maintain the appearance of the work and public areas, ensuring they are tidy and inviting. Material Retrieval: Locate and retrieve materials for library staff or library users, both in public and non-public areas. Check-In: Assist with checking in library materials using the computerized library system. Customer Service: Demonstrate excellent customer service skills when interacting with library users and staff. The heat relief program runs from May 1 st through September 30 th . Part-time opportunities are available at the Cholla , Harmon , and Yucca libraries. Work hours are 4:15 p.m. - 10:15 p.m., five days a week, including weekends and holidays.

Is dependable, enthusiastic, and enjoys working in a library setting. Is eager to learn, highly organized, and able to maintain focus on repetitive tasks. Is able to demonstrate strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. Has a positive attitude and a willingness to assist both library staff and users as needed. Has the ability to learn the Dewey Decimal System through on-the-job training quickly. SALARY

$16.07 per hour

BENEFITS

Part-time employees are eligible for earned paid sick time, city training, and free or discounted bus and light rail fares.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated ability to read and the ability to file or learn to file alphabetically and numerically. The City job description can be found here . Working Conditions Require:

Availability for the full duration of the summer position, May 1 through September 30, with no more than 5 business days requested for vacation. Working irregular hours, weekends, and holidays spanning approximately 22 weeks. Bending, stooping, and kneeling repeatedly or continually over the course of an entire shift. Reaching overhead to shelve books weighing up to three pounds. Remaining in a standing position for extended periods of time, from one continuous hour up to four total hours at a time per day, while performing a variety of tasks. Performing repetitive hand, arm, and body movements, including lifting books continuously for up to an hour at a time and for up to five hours or more. Pushing a wheeled cart weighing up to 250 pounds across up to 175 feet of carpeted floor area. Moving objects weighing more than 50 pounds long distances (greater than 20 feet). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

Experience sorting and filing materials accurately, both alphabetically and numerically, ensuring efficient and organized systems. Basic computer skills, including experience using a keyboard and mouse to navigate systems and perform tasks. Customer service experience in a library or related setting, with a demonstrated ability to assist library users effectively, address inquiries, and provide guidance on locating materials. Experience interacting with a diverse range of patrons and creating a positive, welcoming environment. Spanish proficiency is desired, though not required.
