National Sales Manager Job Description:
Reporting to market(s) GSM/DOS, the National Sales Manager is responsible for developing, leading, and closing sales efforts in key national markets. In this role you will specifically focus on revenue attainment for assigned Cox Media markets as negotiated through both Ampersand and National Direct sales, intensely seeking opportunities to grow agency and direct business by executing the sales strategies developed by the GSM/DOS in collaboration with you and your peers.
A member of an aligned National team, you'll partner with peer NSMs to ensure uniformly excellent performance in delivery, targeting new clients, developing key relationships, actively pursuing new product business, and providing excellent account management. You'll facilitate effective proposal generation in close alignment with the National Sales Planner and oversee excellent stewardship and transactional delivery with close alignment to national Sales Support.

Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $83,400.00 - $125,200.00. The salary rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's experience. In addition to the salary range identified herein, this role is also eligible for an annual incentive/commission target of $62,000.00.

Core Responsibilities:
- Serve as People Leader to National Sales Planner role in assigned market(s)
- Drive national revenue for assigned markets o Meet budgeted revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Ultimately responsible for the negotiation of all national sales orders for clients in region o Partner with support teams (i.e., National Sales Planning, Creative, Research, Client Solutions) to create and deliver RFPs.
- Build and maintain an accurate forecast for the quarter, with weekly updates provided to the your market leader(s).
- Know your stuff - be an enthusiastic learner, user and advocate of our technology, products, and services, routinely leveraging STB data insights and selling our digital solutions.
- Own the customer experience - think and act in ways that put our customers first, give them seamless digital options at every touchpoint, and make them promoters of our products and services.
- Maintain relationships with Inventory and VP/DOS sales leaders in the markets to ensure National sales efforts integrate with all other sales lines consuming market inventory.
- Drive high level of client satisfaction by representing and articulating the sales strategies developed by the GSM/DOS that meet CMI, agency and client objectives.
- Coordinate sales strategies with GSM/DOS, sharing:
- Forecast
- Pipeline
- Pacing
- Recent wins
- Best new solutions/offerings
- What's working (i.e., market pitch)
- Competition
- Engage actively with other NSMs also reporting to market GSM/DOS to promote and share best practices, performance drivers and revenue opportunities
- Participate proactively as a member of Team National, responsible for taking point position on assigned agency(ies) in partnership with DOS and serving as ambassador for all CMI NSMs to communicate, inform and strategize on key shared accounts
- Develop a strong partnership with Ampersand DOS and AD on key accounts, and Account Executives within assigned region/markets
- Co-lead consultations for new and existing clients with Ampersand, focusing on client solutions
- Guide National Sales Planner in independent avail/proposal creation and execution
- Drive operational excellence among pre- and post-sales support teams to ensure an exceptional client experience
- Coordinate delivery with both business partners (i.e., Sales Support, Inventory) and transactional national support teams for client requirements such as scheduling, inventory, monitoring
- Take an active and participatory role in weekly or monthly National Sales meetings and related conference calls. Win as a team - make big things happen by working together and being open to new ideas.
- Fully leverage pre- and post-sales support in order to spend 70-80% of time in client facing activity
- Gather and share feedback from the marketplace to drive continuous improvement in the overall solutions and delivery processes (i.e., Sales Strategy, Sales Excellence, Campaign Management)
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field. The right
candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years'
experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years' experience in a related field
Customer focused mindset with a demonstrated ability to transcend the vendor tag & become a true business partner. - Strong relationship-building and influencing skills to build partnership with Ampersand extended team and with agency and end client constituents.
- Problem solving, negotiation, time management and detail-oriented skills.
- Proficient knowledge in Cox Media's advanced product offerings and solutions.
- Proficient knowledge of market conditions and competitive insights Advanced research abilities and critical thinking skill.
