Content Summary: Grant Writer at Broomfield, for FRIENDS General Description

The Grant Writer will be responsible for the preparation and submission of grant collateral, grant proposals and grant reports. This position will also work with CEO to prosect and identify various sources of funding from foundations to corporations, that meet the organization's funding needs.

Responsibilities
• Work collaboratively with CEO and staff to understand areas of funding needed.
• Research potential grants and the criteria to qualify for each.
• Discuss available sources of funding with CEO.
• Update the Grant Calendar and list of targeted grants and relevant information.
• Create and compile collateral materials and information needed for the application process through collaboration with the CEO, other employees, database research, and other fact-finding actions and meetings.
• Draft and complete grant applications according to grant requirements.
• Ensure grants are submitted on time and within application parameters.
• Coordinate the monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects that are funded by grants.
• Complete and submit all reports required by the grant in a timely manner.
• Communicate with grant managers of various funders as necessary.
• Maintain master files on grants including collateral, applications, reports and other relevant documents.
• Weekly check-ins with CEO.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• Two pus years of experience in grant research and writing in nonprofit sector preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to craft persuasive and well-structured proposals.
• Understanding of the FRIENDS' programs and funding needs of the organization.
• Excellent knowledge of proposal submission and the fundraising process.
• Strong research and prospecting skills and understanding of information sources.
• Understanding of grant funding policies and procedures
• Ability to interpret financial data, prepare budgets and financial reports.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and grant management software.
• Ability to handle confidential matters with utmost integrity.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining proactive and responsive communication with the CEO.
• Passion for making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
