General Responsibilities:
The Plumbing Designer is responsible for designing plumbing systems using CAD, 3D Piping, and Revit software. This role provides technical support to various departments and assists in creating plumbing designs, including system narratives, drawings, and specifications for projects of varying types and sizes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review architectural plans and set up Revit/CAD files.
  • Design plumbing systems based on architectural drawings and material specifications.
  • Develop 3D Revit detail drawings, schedules, and isometrics for plan/spec and design-build projects.
  • Assess project submittals for space limitations and constructability.
  • Create Material Requisitions (MRs) and perform take-offs on all drawings.
  • Provide technical support for fabrication and field operations.
  • Coordinate with project managers and field foremen to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Collaborate with field operations supervisors to implement necessary design modifications.
  • Document design changes and process adjustments as needed.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring company design and drafting standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures on job sites.
  • Travel to job sites as required by management.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and values.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and building codes.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid California driver’s license with a clean DMV record.
  • Minimum of 3 years of plumbing experience, including on-site installation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, plumbing codes, and blueprint reading.
  • Knowledge of PHCC (Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors) standards.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Capable of handling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to make sound decisions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
