To advance Understood's mission and further our impact, we are hiring a Manager, Social & Influencer reporting to the Associate Director of Social & Influencer.
This person will manage the execution of the influencer marketing and organic social partnerships program and ensure it ladders up to the wider social strategy for Understood.org. This includes effectively communicating and executing the approach for Understood's influencer program and social partnerships. This role requires an operator that is a strategic thinker who can tie execution to the wider strategy. We are looking for a candidate with experience managing long-term influencer campaigns on social media and someone who is successful at leveraging social partnerships to increase community credibility.
You are someone who not only has expertise in influencer marketing, but genuinely loves and is excited by the partnership landscape and its power it has to build brand awareness and engagement. You can quickly name your favorite creator or partnership opportunity and explain why. You've managed, negotiated and maintained key influencer and creator relationships.
This is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of three (3) days a week in our NYC office, with a focus on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Influencer Marketing Responsibilities

What you'll do
Influencer Marketing Responsibilities
- Own all day-to-day influencer marketing and social partnership workstreams under the guidance of the Associate Director of Social & Influencer
- Proven experience in identifying, vetting, and building influencer relationships for successful campaign execution
- Manage relationships with key influencers while also managing program budget, including negotiation of partnership terms and deliverables
- Develop customized campaign briefs for influencers, clearly outlining brand messaging and content expectations
- Lead content approvals and ensure adherence to brand guidelines
- Monitor influencer program + social partnership performance and syndicate learnings to cross-functional team members
- Stay up-to-date on industry and cultural trends to align social strategy with influencer marketing and product initiatives
- Collaborate with Understood's Content and Advancement teams to manage organic social partnerships, including content design, budget allocation, and channel execution.
- Act as a point of contact for organic social partner communication and collaboration, with oversight from the lead Partnership Manager
- Execute the implementation of partnership activities on all social channels, ensuring alignment with agreed-upon goals and timelines
- Track partnership performance against KPIs, including impact metrics and ROI
- Day-to-day lead for Tagger platform relationship, primarily for identifying key influencer partnerships and measuring performance
- Create UTM tracking and content tagging for influencer and partnership campaigns
- Coordinate with finance team for influencer and partnership invoicing
- Partner with internal team on influencer contract creation and routing
- Minimum 5 years of experience in influencer marketing + social partnership strategies, development and execution
- Excellent relationship building and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills to measure campaign performance and ROI
- Ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts with influencer
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and execute influencer and partnership campaigns
- Ability to take initiative, handle multiple projects at once and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of social impact issues and digital trends in the non-profit sector
- Committed to embodying and being a steward of our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital media, communications or related field
- Deep understanding of social media platforms and their analytics
- Proficiency with digital marketing/social media/influencer management tools, such as Sprout Social (or equivalent), Tagger (or equivalent), ManyChat, etc.
- Familiar with analytics and project management tools, such as Looker, JIRA, & Airtable
