Job Description

WHAT DOES A MEDIA DIRECTOR DO?

The Media Director is an experienced leader within the department who provides strategic guidance and oversight of day-to-day operations across a portfolio of media accounts. This person oversees the media planning and buying process end-to-end and is the voice of experience with the client. The Media Director is responsible for the training, management, and growth of a team of direct reports within a portfolio and is the first point of escalation when issues arise. Seamless collaboration with the appropriate HCP and DTC clients, senior-level Account and media subject matter experts (SMEs), and active participation in organic growth and new business activities is expected.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the media lead point-of-contact across one piece of oncology business, a portfolio comprised of multiple brands and their accompanying clients. This person will be the primary go-to for clients and will maintain regular communication.
  • Lead the development of strategic, high-value media programs across DTC and HCP campaigns that adhere to client's needs and parameters
  • Deep understanding of individual client operations, their goals, objectives, and business challenges
  • Effectively apply media knowledge to solve client business challenges while displaying depth of understanding in how media is orchestrated to drive ROI
  • Proactively mobilize team(s) to initiative and activate necessary work streams
  • Collaborate seamlessly with senior-level SME and Account teams to drive overall strategic direction and integration across target audience touchpoints
  • Oversee communication with Account and key client contacts
  • Run point on high-profile vendor relationships and contract negotiations
  • Responsible for identifying areas of organic growth of existing accounts and overall sustainability and growth of the portfolio
  • Financial management and staff planning
  • Responsible for career pathing, ongoing coaching, and overall development for direct reports
  • Always keep top-of-mind media campaign timeline, internal and external-facing next steps, approaching deadlines, etc., to ensure day-to-day tasks are completed seamlessly and nothing falls through the cracks
  • Manage up effectively and efficiently to VP, where applicable
  • Identify issues with staff and team structure, and proactively work to find solutions
  • Point of escalation within the team portfolio
  • Manage team resources and ensure maximum billabilitiy
  • Start to lead new business opportunities, as needs arise
  • Stay abreast of media industry and health-specific POVs, trends, and technology solutions, assisting with internal POVs and case study write-ups, as necessary

 

Qualifications

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

This role requires strong media acumen, working knowledge across all paid media channels, staff management, and agency business development.

  • 10+ years, including experience in media account management
  • Expertise across both digital and non-digital media channels, HCP and DTC target audiences (OTT/CTV media planning experience a plus)
  • Must be comfortable as the main client resource for all things media (supported internally by a strong set of media channel SME leads)
  • Financial management/staff planning experience
  • Analysis and optimization of media campaigns
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Honed staff management experience, including ensuring team maximizes billability
  • Powerpoint and Excel fluency
  • Ability to distill complex media ideas and concepts to a non-media savvy audience
  • Cross-channel media strategy, planning, and buying experience, including select non-digital media channels
  • Contract negotiation
  • Syndicated 3rd party research tools
  • Ability to effectively lead productive and efficient meetings
  • Problem identification and solving
  • Strategic thinking
  • Able to effectively deliver ongoing coaching and feedback

EVERSANA is committed to providing competitive salaries and benefits for all employees. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $101,000.00 to $150,000.00 and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S.  The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position.  Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). More information about EVERSANA’s benefits package can be found at eversana.com/careers.
