We are looking for a talented and experienced Analyst / UX/UI Designer to join our growing team. As the hybrid between sales and engineering, you are the bridge between the client, the users, and the Troy Web team. You will work with stakeholders to understand their users’ needs, translate those needs into technical requirements, and bring those requirements to life through your interface designs and user flows.
We are looking for someone who is innovative and self-driven with strong analysis skills for technical solutions, combined with a team-oriented attitude and the ability to lead discussions in gathering requirements and presenting user interface designs and prototypes..
You will play a key role in the development of new sales opportunities and scaling existing projects through your recommendations of best practices in analysis and UX design. We are looking for an individual who is strongly motivated by working on both the wide perspective and strategic goals of our clients as well as the details of improving user experience through important design decisions. This role is ideal for someone who bridges the gap between business stakeholders and users, ensuring that the software meets both technical and user requirements.
Qualifications:- Have an available online portfolio (please share the password if your portfolio is password-protected)
- 3-5 years of analysis & design experience (5+ years experience a plus)
- Experience partnering with developers and engineers for design implementation
- Proven history of designing software system(s) and an emphasis on conceptual, visual, interaction design and strategic thinking
- Expertise in Figma, Adobe XD, Lucidchart, etc
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to gather user feedback through formal and informal user research structures and apply them to requirements and designs
- Create and maintain component libraries in Figma
- Guide the broader team on how to leverage projects’ design systems
- Expertise in typographic principles, interaction design, and illustration
- Ability to communicate design patterns to developers
- Lead teams on accessibility standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in end-to-end concept to shipping several full product development cycles
- Experience creatively solving complex problems across products or software systems with simple, transformational results.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Responsibilities:
- Gathering and analyzing business requirements: This involves meeting stakeholders, understanding their needs, and documenting them in a clear and concise way.
- Operate effectively in an agency environment that values iteration, showcasing strong design expertise through full ownership of end-to-end product design.
- Partner with project management, engineering and sales to create designs from concept to solution, defining UX standards, fostering collaboration, and promoting best practices for interaction models and user interface designs across the team.
- Clearly and convincingly present complex, interactive design concepts to diverse audiences and organizational levels, leveraging excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Where applicable, establish ongoing discussions with primary users of software systems to gather requirements and pain points.
- Summarize and prioritize user feedback and apply user and stakeholder feedback to your designs.
- Wireframing, creating high fidelity designs, and clickable prototypes when applicable to demonstrate functionality.
- Present your designs to small and large audiences, effectively communicating your design decisions.
- Build trust with stakeholders and users by creating a shared vision and using research and data insights to identify opportunities and guide decision-making.
- Perform and facilitate requirements gathering, modeling and documentation activities using contemporary agile methods, techniques & models.
- Defining and documenting business processes: This involves mapping out how things are currently done and then designing improvements.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders: This involves keeping stakeholders informed of progress and making sure that they are happy with the results.
- Designing and implementing solutions to business problems: This involves coming up with creative solutions to problems and then seeing them through to completion.
- Provide assistance with support, debugging, troubleshooting, testing and quality assurance efforts for various projects and software products.
- Creating and presenting requirements documents and presentations: This involves communicating complex information to stakeholders effectively.
- Effectively communicate with clients and team members.
- Provide various levels of support for our product division & our customers’ software products.
- Work collaboratively to establish and scale design culture at Troy Web Consulting:
- Identify key areas within projects to establish and improve design impact
- Create and maintain design systems as sources of truth
- Regularly participate in and present at Design Jams and Lunch and Learns
- Mentor colleagues
- Stay up-to-date with design standards and best practices
- Work with sales team to propose design solutions to prospects and stakeholders
Bonus Nice-to-Haves:
- Have authored a Design System in Figma
- Expertise or proven experience with SEO best practices
- Familiarity with CSS
- Certification(s) in Google Ads, Google Analytics, and/or W3CG accessibility standards
- UX/UI certification (Google, Nielsen Norman, etc)
- Experience in frontend development
- Experience with website/CMS design (WordPress, etc)
- Experience with Storybook
- Experience leveraging AI in analyzing and designing software systems
