About the Role & Team

Disney’s Direct to Consumer (DTC) team oversees the Hulu and Disney+ streaming businesses within Disney Entertainment, helping to bring The Walt Disney Company’s best-in-class storytelling to fans and families everywhere.

The Disney+ Global Subscriber Engagement and Content Programming team is responsible for leading content planning, scheduling, on-service merchandising, slate management, and programming insights that contribute to a cohesive strategic content approach for the service.

What You’ll Do

Join Disney’s Global Content Programming Team as a Content Programming Manager (Content Promos)! We are on the lookout for a passionate Content Programming Manager (Content Promos) who will drive our business and editorial priorities to enhance viewer engagement across Disney+ and Hulu. This role places a strong emphasis on promoting video content across both platforms. You will collaborate with a dynamic team of Content Programmers to conceptualize and execute engaging in-stream video campaigns and promotions. The ideal candidate is familiar with promotional videos, content management systems, and project management tools. A genuine enthusiasm for growth, along with a broad knowledge of television, film, and popular culture, is essential. Responsibilities

  • Program, Test, and Optimize: Develop and refine content promotions across Hulu and Disney+ to effectively meet the needs of our audiences and drive business objectives.

  • Monitor and Analyze Performance: Track the effectiveness of video promotional campaigns, identifying opportunities for optimization and enhancement.

  • Collaborate on Insights: Work closely with insights, data, and analytics teams to design experiments, collect data, and measure outcomes for informed decision-making.

  • Campaign Ideation and Communication: Contribute to the ideation, planning, tracking, and communication of promotional campaigns across teams and the organization, focusing on video promotions to expand audience reach.

  • Manage Prioritization and Targeting: Oversee title prioritization and develop targeting strategies using audience segmentation tools to enhance engagement.

  • Documentation and Workflow Efficiency: Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes while identifying opportunities to improve workflow efficiency.

  • Creative Troubleshooting: Collaborate with creative partners and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues in promotional content.

  • Event Coverage: Be available to cover evening and weekend programming events as needed to ensure seamless operations.

  • Ad-hoc Collaboration: Work with team members on special programming strategies and initiatives to respond to current needs.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in editorial strategy, digital media, content programming, content curation, product management, or audience development.

  • Proficient in digital media publishing with hands-on experience using a consumer-facing CMS across web, app, streaming, or connected devices.

  • Proficient in Ads Manager or equivalent platforms for managing paid social campaigns.

  • Proven track record of successfully growing diverse audiences across various platforms.

  • Familiar with using data analysis tools such as Tableau, Looker, Conviva, Excel, Google Sheets, and Airtable to drive informed decision-making and enhance insights.

  • Strong communication skills with experience presenting to large groups.

  • Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to follow-through.

  • Quick learner with strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adapting priorities seamlessly and maintaining composure under pressure.

  • Passionate about sports, news, television, and movies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the streaming or SVOD industry is highly desirable.

  • A strong understanding of and hands-on experience with Airtable is highly advantageous.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field or relevant equivalent years of experience.

Additional Information

  • This role is based out of the Glendale office 4 days a week.

  • Must be available to cover evening and weekend programming events as needed to ensure smooth operations.

The hiring range for this position in California is $85,800 to $115,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
