Respawn’s global marketing team works collaboratively among team functions - brand, creative, community, etc. - and with our game development partners to develop greater awareness, interest, and long-term attachment to Apex Legends. You and the creative team are responsible for our overall creative identity, the experiences that we develop for players around new seasons and content launches, and the tactical assets that inform players about what’s happening in our game (gameplay trailers, static assets, etc.). This involves working with the internal creative team, our partner agencies, and other partner teams to guide campaign and individual assets from planning phase to ultimate execution and delivery to players.
As the Creative Director of Marketing, you will report into the Head of Brand for Apex Legends, partnering with them to achieve the above while ushering in a new era of Apex growth. You will lead the internal creative team, inspire and guide agencies to greatness, and work with our game team and other marketing functions to deliver breakthrough work that also improves game value.
In the past four years, Apex Legends has grown to become one of the biggest FPS games in the world. Millions of people play, watch, and interact with our Legends daily, in and out of the game. This is an opportunity to build a creative team as we expand Apex into more markets and platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with our game creative director to influence and shape seasonal creative themes.
- Work with the larger marketing team and our agencies to bring those creative ideas to life across communications, content, and channels.
- Collaborate with marcom strategy, brand marketing, and channel to develop and refine ideas based on insights and strategies that move Apex forward.
- Advocate for the creative work of the team to company partners.
- Collaborate with our channel teams to develop and support creative and content platforms.
- Partner with Brand Marketing and other teams to ensure quality and integrated execution of the creative across channels.
- Lead internal creative teams throughout live service marketing.
- Act as the Creative POC for all external vendors and agencies working on live service marketing.
- Contribute to the marketing leadership team, participating in discussions around brand/marketing strategy direction, team structure, and ways of working.
REQUIREMENTS
- 8+ years in a CD role within a creative agency or entertainment brand.
- Experience building and guiding creative teams to success.
- Able to work with teams in the Pacific time zone. Some regular travel may be needed for important team collaboration moments.
- Experience in live service game marketing.
- A leader: Inspiring and influential voice with experience selling in creative experiences to different audiences.
- A storyteller: understanding of cohesive narrative across everything from a presentation to a piece of content.
- A creator: inspires breakthrough activations and content across various mediums.
- Ability to turn insights into breakthrough ideas.
- A love for the rich mythology and culture around entertainment storytelling.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on relevant business and candidate factors (e.g., education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
BASE SALARY RANGES: $170,500 - $259,300 USD
In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
