The Children’s Hospital Foundation is hiring a Grant Writer to work at the Foundation headquarters at TechMill. We are looking for someone who has a commitment and passion for our mission and an eagerness to learn! The Grant Writer facilitates grant requests primarily focused on corporate and foundation donors by researching, developing, and responding to grant proposals and through the creation of supporting documentation. They will also track proposals and current grants and prepare grant reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter all proposal information into specified database in a timely and accurate fashion.

  • Assist to assemble financial data, budges and other information needed for grant and proposal submission.

  • Keep current about issues and trends affecting health care and pediatrics in general. Support achievement of annual fund raising goals.

  • Attend annual Hospital and departmental fire/safety and infection control training and maintain current knowledge of safety procedures within hospital and department.

  • Develop, write and edit grant proposals specific to an assigned department or team.

  • Track outstanding and current proposals and grants.

  • Meet with faculty and development officers to define and develop requests targeted to specific donors.

  • Maintain all hard files as required in support of all grant writing assignments.

  • Assist Sr. Grant Writer with support functions related to grant and proposal writing and submission.

  • Research donors and prospects independently or with development officers and research staff to prepare grants and proposals.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • 2 years of experience in grant or proposal preparation and presentation required.

  • Experience in health care or foundation preferred.

  • Experience in dealing with media a plus.

  • Ability to work and think creatively.

  • Excellent writing, grammar, editing and organizational skills.

  • Ability to effectively use medical information in communication.

  • Ability to work on a number of assignments simultaneously.

  • Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities and shifting deadlines.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with multiple departments. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 33 Clearance with renewal

  • Act 34 Clearance with renewal
