Senior Architectural Project Designer

The role involves leading the design process from concept to completion, using a design thesis format to articulate clear, compelling architectural narratives. Ideal candidates should possess a strong understanding of structural, MEP, and civil engineering principles to integrate architectural vision with technical elements seamlessly. A rich understanding of architectural history and project precedents is highly desirable, enriching the design process with depth and context. While licensure is preferred, the ability to inspire, organize, and deliver exceptional designs is crucial.

JOB SUMMARY The role requires a proactive leader adept at initiating and refining project designs that merge artistic and technical components. Responsibilities include: Leading the design team and fostering a creative, precise working environment. Developing innovative design concepts and ensuring they reflect project objectives and design thesis. Conducting regular reviews to ensure design alignments with technical specifications. Ensuring high-quality and artistic design presentations and documents. Organizing and leading design charrettes with technical experts for refining solutions. Conducting client meetings to present design concepts and incorporate feedback. Acting as the main contact for clients, communicating technical and conceptual aspects of projects.

SKILLS REQUIRED Strong communication skills for effectively conveying complex design narratives. Proficiency in sketching and quickly visualizing design ideas. Ability to provide design recommendations aligning with budgetary and site restrictions. Capability to modify designs while maintaining artistic integrity and adhering to client feedback. Strong multitasking and prioritization skills in dynamic environments. Leadership skills to effectively direct and inspire a team. Demonstrated initiative, responsibility, and flexibility in complex scenarios. Proficiency in software like Revit, SketchUp, and Lumion. Commitment to mentoring junior team members and supporting their professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS 10+ years of experience in architecture Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture Experience in commercial, sports, and education market segments Licensure preferred LEED or equivalent sustainable design designation preferred, not required
