CONTENT STRATEGIST (CONTRACTOR, 3-MONTH TERM)


Who We’re Looking For

Big Bird, a niche digital agency specializing in golf-themed creative solutions, is seeking a Content Strategist on a contract basis (3-month term to start with potential to renew) to support our Managing Director in developing, crafting, and pitching campaign strategies for our clients. The ideal candidate has a passion for storytelling, a deep understanding of digital marketing, and a strong grasp of the golf industry. This role requires creativity, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate brand goals into compelling content strategies that drive engagement and results


This role is a contractor position for an initial 3-month term, with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance and business needs at Big Bird.


Locations

This hybrid role is available near any of the Big Bird office hubs: Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville, or Atlanta.


Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of content strategies tailored to golf-related brands, ensuring alignment with business objectives and audience insights
  • Collaborate closely with the Managing Director to pitch creative campaign concepts to clients, supporting strategic storytelling with research and industry insights
  • Develop and maintain brand messaging guidelines, ensuring consistency across digital marketing, production, and event activations
  • Research and analyze industry trends, audience behavior, and competitive landscapes to inform creative and content decisions
  • Work with designers, copywriters, and production teams to bring content strategies to life across various platforms (social media, email, web, etc.)
  • Assist in the creation of client pitch decks and presentations, clearly articulating the rationale behind proposed strategies
  • Track and evaluate campaign performance, using data-driven insights to refine future content strategies
  • Maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for content-related discussions and recommendations


Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in content strategy, digital marketing, or brand storytelling—agency experience preferred
  • A strong understanding of the golf industry, including its culture, trends, and key players
  • Exceptional writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop compelling creative narratives that align with brand goals and audience needs
  • Experience working cross-functionally with creative teams, designers, and strategists to execute campaigns
  • Proficiency in content planning, campaign development, and performance analysis
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment
