Summary / Objective


The Design Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all design aspects of design associated with the interior fit out of a project, ensuring that architectural plans, engineering drawings, and other design elements seamlessly integrate and align with project requirements, working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver a completed project on time and within budget; key duties include reviewing design documents, identifying potential issues, facilitating communication between design teams, and resolving design conflicts to maintain project flow and quality.


Responsibilities

  1. Review architectural and interior design packages associated with the tendered scope of works.
  2. Coordinate all interior design, MEP services, supplier documentation, supplier drawings, fabrication drawings for accuracy and compliance with project specifications and requirements.
  3. Initiate and prepare samples for client presentation.
  4. Coordinate and prepare technical submissions for all materials where necessary.
  5. Manage and maintain registers including status for all shop drawings submissions, material approval requests, technical submissions and requests for information.
  6. Provide guidance to project teams with respect to the installation of products as and when requested.
  7. Identify potential design clashes or conflicts between different disciplines and work with the design and project management teams to resolve them.
  8. Ensure design documents are properly coordinated and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
  9. Maintain effective communication between architects, interior designers, contractors, and clients to ensure all parties are informed with regards to any design changes and any impact of the same.
  10. Conduct regular design meetings to discuss progress, address issues, and maintain alignment on project goals and production timelines.
  11. Assist in developing project timelines and milestones related to design and manufacturing deliverables.
  12. Monitor design progress against the schedule and budget, identifying potential delays and proposing solutions.
  13. Track design document revisions and ensure proper documentation control.
  14. Present design concepts to clients, address their concerns, and incorporate feedback into the design or product.



Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM software, and other design related applications
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication to effectively convey design ideas and manage stakeholder expectations
  3. Ability to identify and resolve design conflicts, technical issues, and mitigate potential construction challenges
  4. Manage complex design documents, deadlines, and project schedules efficiently
  5. Work effectively with cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients
  6. Possess a strong understanding of construction codes, building materials, industry standards, millwork manufacturing and installation methods.



Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or extensive field knowledge in interiors. (Preferred)


Experience:

A minimum of 5 years' experience in design coordination, architectural planning, and/or interior fit-out projects is an advantage.


Work Location:

  • In corporate officed in McMurray, PA with travel as and when necessary (mostly international)


License/Certification:

  • Valid Driver's License and Passport required
