Group: Tactical Satellite Communications (06-64)


The Advanced Satcom Systems and Operations Group is involved in a synergistic combination of research, proof-of-concept test beds, and system engineering/application efforts focused on the goals of enhancing the capacity, the robustness to interference, and the flexibility of future generations of communications satellites, as well as beyond line-of-sight radio communications systems.



Job Description:


A senior technical writer is required to maintain and update existing documentation for various program systems, to include but not limited to:

•Design descriptions, technical reference and interface control documentation, user guides, and training documents

•Interact with technical staff and create documentation for new programs to include user guides, hardware/software design, and technical reference and interface control documentation.

•Create and edit an on-line web based training program to include complying training materials and video editing. This will include creating voice overlay to training videos created for training classes.


Must Have:

-Familiarity w/R&D/STEM content

-Framemaker

-Software Documentation

-Adobe software (Acrobat, InDesign) MS Suite (Excel, ppt)

-Technical Documentation


Nice to Have:

-Bachelor's Degree, SVN, GITHUB, Jira

-Confluence

-Satellite communications or communication systems and technology would be preferred


Remote Work:

This position requires the individual to be predominantly on site the first 6 months and then will transition to more of a hybrid set up where remote work will be allowable. Candidate should expect to be onsite 1-2 days / wk.
