Leo Villareal Studio is seeking a freelance producer with experience in motion graphics design, media production and experiential design for a contract engagement.
The producer will be responsible for managing all aspects of an animation project for an external client, working closely with our Director of Visualization to develop and execute a production plan for a series of animations based on a completed concept deck using a combination of industry-standard tools and custom studio software and workflows. Additional duties will include line producing studio media installation projects and in-house concept visualizations for new works as the need arises.
The position is for an initial six-month contract with the potential for extension depending on the studio’s project pipeline. While partial hybrid work is possible, the position will be primarily based out of our studio in Brooklyn, and working on site there is a requirement.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage a detailed project production schedule
- Identify and oversee contract motion graphics artists, specifying and assigning discrete scopes of work to achieve production needs within project budget constraints
- Ensure that project work is completed on time and within budget
- Implement a time tracking system and compare estimated versus actual time to complete assigned scopes, using this information to progressively refine the production schedule
- Lead regular review sessions with studio creative leads, tracking feedback and ensuring that notes are addressed
- Evaluate and monitor studio hardware resources (compute and storage) against project needs and proactively submit resource upgrade requests to the Studio Director as needed
- Manage project media files, instituting and maintaining good organization of asset, media and project files and ensuring that all files are properly backed up on our server
- Report project status, schedule and budget updates regularly to the Studio Director
- Deliver prompt and professional client communication, coordinate client review sessions and communicate client updates and requests to the studio team
- Create client-facing presentation decks for client review sessions
- Line produce studio media installation projects and in-house concept design efforts when they arise
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience producing motion design or experience design projects
- Experience managing project schedules and budgets
- Experience with project management systems to organize workflows and track progress
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to elicit actionable feedback and facilitate creative development
- Deep understanding of motion design principles and strong aesthetic sensibilities
- Expert level knowledge of motion graphics production and media management workflows
- Comfortable working with small teams and custom tools and workflows
