This position is ONLY open to Northeastern University Co-Op students. The term will run from July 7 to December 23, 2025, and the successful candidates will be expected to work in-office five days a week. About this position: As a Social Media Design Co-Op, you will work closely with our social media and design teams to develop eye-catching graphics, animations, and other visual content tailored for social platforms. You’ll play an active role in creating content that enhances the brand presence of customers across channels, learning the essentials of social media strategy, and refining your design skills in a fast-paced, real-world environment. What you'll be doing: Design engaging social media content, including graphics, animations, videos, and infographics, to support campaigns, announcements, and day-to-day posts. Assist in developing concepts and visuals for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and other platforms, ensuring each aligns with brand guidelines and social media best practices. Collaborate with the social media team to brainstorm and storyboard new content ideas that drive engagement and followers. Research and implement current social media design trends to keep content fresh and relevant. Edit and optimize designs for various social media formats and requirements. Prepare assets for scheduled posts, stories, and other content formats. Track engagement and analyze what resonates best with our audience, contributing ideas for optimization and improvement. If you identify with any of the following, we encourage you to apply! Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a design program (graphic design, digital media, visual communication, or related field). Great proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and basic familiarity with video editing tools (e.g., Premiere Pro). A good understanding of social media platforms and experience in creating content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc. Ability to design visually appealing graphics while keeping up with platform-specific guidelines. Creative thinking, adaptability, and openness to feedback. Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. A portfolio showcasing design work with a focus on digital or social media content (please include with application). Preferred Qualifications: Experience with motion graphics and animations for social media. Familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Later, Buffer, or Hootsuite) and analytics tracking. Our salaries are benchmarked against market Total Cash Compensation for the geographic location of our job posting. Compensation for some roles is structured as On Target Earnings (OTE = base + commission/variable) while for others it is structured as Salary only. To comply with local legislation and ensure transparency, we share salary ranges on all job postings. Skills, experience and other factors help determine the final salary we offer which may vary from the original range posted. Additionally, all permanent team members are granted stock options and are eligible to participate in various benefits plans as part of their overall compensation package. Salary Range: $21/hour Where we work: We have hubs in Boston, MA; Vancouver, BC; Toronto, ON; Chicago, IL; and Vancouver, WA. For select positions, we are open to hiring fully remote candidates.
