Our client, a luxury home textile brand, is seeking a Director of Product Design to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This position will be onsite 5 days a week at their DTLA HQ!
RESPONSIBILITIES: Be extremely hands-on Be a “Problem Solver” Manage 1 direct report (Design Coordinator) Work closely with our Founder, Director of Marketing, and the Director of Product Development on new textile collections Work directly with our textile mills worldwide Design new collections, including sourcing, design, and specifications Devise new processes, or refine existing ones, to optimize our operations Works in conjunction with product development, marketing, and sales departments to ensure timely delivery of new textile collections Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Prior related-Industry experience with sewn-product construction and textile design Prior home experience preferred; otherwise, a strong passion for the home space is a must Prior dyeing and garment-dyeing experience Bachelor’s Degree; 5+ years in apparel or home manufacturing Excellent Computer skills, especially PHOTOSHOP, ILLUSTRATOR Well-developed sense of style and an understanding of current trends and quality standards Strong sense of aesthetic judgment and attention to detail A proactive mindset and a strong desire to achieve long-term success
