Responsibilities Lead the development and management of the corporate design standards for Novant Health, including the management of prototypical standards for new and renovated facilities. Develop and maintain manual of Novant design guidelines and specifications standards. Coordinate and oversee the design professional selection process for capital projects of all sizes. Develop and implement medical equipment planning processes and solutions. Provide direction to, and liaison with, executive architects and other consultants working on Novant capital projects. Review plans, specifications, projects, and facilities for compliance with applicable codes and Novant standards. Participate as an active member of project teams in programming and building committee deliberations as needed. Analyze and evaluate alternatives, review costs of site and building development, and review project plans and specifications for compliance with regulatory requirements. Interact with federal, state, and local agencies. Coordinate land use and perform due diligence to determine the required amount of land needed by coordinating market needs. Lead all facility master planning efforts and coordinate data collection with strategic planning. Supervise and manage project teams to develop Novant Health strategic plans across entities and geographies. Work in collaboration with Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development to lead and facilitate strategic facility planning processes. Develop and lead processes and timelines for appropriate refreshes of the plan to enhance the competitive position of Novant Health. Maintain close working relationships at all levels of the organization to ensure the quality of planning deliverables. Oversee structured analysis and business planning for new program development and new business opportunities. Qualifications Education: 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, or related field, required. Graduate Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, or Architecture, preferred. Experience: Minimum seven (7) years in hospital operations or in health care design, required. Minimum six years progressive management experience, required. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Current and future trends/practices in area of responsibility. Understanding of federal, state, and local codes. A documented track record of strategic thinking and problem-solving. Ability to develop, manage, and complete multiple, high-visibility projects and programming. Understanding of information systems and software used in area of responsibility. Application of safety and infection prevention policies and procedures. Skills in interviewing and selection process. Understanding of budgeting, staffing, payroll, and purchasing processes. Implementation of competency, feedback, development, and progressive discipline processes. Teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills. Decision making, project leadership, consultation, delegation, and communication skills. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s license and have a personal vehicle available if necessary. Ability to travel enterprise-wide. Comfortable in ambiguous and often changing environments. Team leader and team builder. Energetic and decisive. Able to stand on a position and move forward with unpopular decisions.
