Design Assistant

Summary

The Design Assistant mainly provides support to a Senior Designer on the company's staging team, as well as ad-hoc support to the Design Director. This person is responsible for site surveying, buying, assisting with the design process, warehouse coordination, installation oversight and coordination.

Position Requirements

• Conduct site surveys to assess new projects and obtain measurements, photographic documentation, access information and instructions

• Maintain material and sample library, files, and overall office organization

• Manage schedule and arrange meetings, both internal and with clients

• Assist design team with all design related activities such as preparing for presentations and product research

• Liaise with and oversee on site work of vendors, contractors, including but not limited to window treatments, painting, and electrical work

• Shop online and in person for items to be used in the design of projects, as needed

• Collaborate with the design team and Senior Installation Managers to assist with the installation of projects

• Assist in the management of project timelines and suggest updates and/or changes in order to stay on schedule

• Use the company’s proprietary software for inventory and project management

• Travel to and from project sites, assist with installation styling and general moving as needed

Skills and Experience

• Administrative experience in a professional services environment required.

• Bachelors Degree required. Design or architecture experience, including high end residential or commercial, preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Pages.

• Experienced with Adobe Creative suite and AutoCAD strongly preferred

Compensation range:

$21.00-$24.00/hour
