ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Writer to join our team in Herndon, Virginia. Support a team of world class software engineers who have significant impact on our national security and protect the most coveted target in the world.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Gather information from end users and work with software developers to answer user questions and to solve user issues.

  • Obtain technical data from independent observation, research, review with technical staff members, and studies of published materials and existing documentation.

  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs), analysts, programmers, and other technical staff to obtain relevant information on technologies, methods, and standards of software, applications and systems.

  • Interface with a diverse group of end users to understand and resolve user issues with the system.

  • Document and track user issue resolution in ticketing system and leverage this data to develop FAQs and other knowledge management materials.

  • Create, edit, and manage material prepared by other writers.

  • Perform quality assurance on all materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of experience with technical writing or High School Diploma and 4+ years of experience with technical writing

  • 2+ years of experience with creating documents that effectively communicate highly technical material to non-technical audiences

  • Experience with successfully managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines

  • Experience supporting software developers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.

  • Familiarity with the Assessment & Authorization Process

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
