The Production Technician is responsible for various tasks related to the production and handling of vinyl graphics, banners, signs, and other products offered by Vinyl Images. Primary responsibilities include operating the Flatbed Router, weeding, masking, cutting, rolling, boxing, installing, and shipping. This role requires strong organizational skills, time management, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operate an Apex Flatbed Router proficiently.
  2. Utilize DFX Software for production tasks.
  3. Execute production tasks, including but not limited to weeding, masking, cutting, rolling, welding, boxing, installing, and shipping.
  4. Maintain a clean, organized, and structured workspace to ensure efficiency and accessibility, even in the absence of the Production Master Technician.
  5. Provide support to other departments, including print, production, and installation, as needed.
  6. Consistently adhere to safety procedures and best practices.
  7. Be open to and positively receive constructive feedback.
  8. Participate in official company meetings as required.
  9. Effectively manage multiple tasks and responsibilities as needed.
  10. Learn and apply hardware and software necessary for production operations.
  11. Communicate and collaborate professionally and constructively with team members.
  12. Maintain a high standard of quality while optimizing efficiency.
  13. Continue learning and expanding industry knowledge related to vinyl production.
  14. Ability to lift heavy objects as required.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be able to learn and navigate computer software.
  2. Must be able to manage workflow and communicate well with team members.
  3. Must be quality-conscious and work quickly under time constraints.
  4. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Omega are preferred, but not required.
  5. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  6. Gaining knowledge and understanding of new information, methods, and tools to complete production operations as described above.
  7. Becoming acquainted with and mastering the usage of Production Department-specific machines such as printers, laminators, and plotters.
  8. Handling shipping and receiving operations.
  9. Maintaining accurate counts on store levels of materials, substrates, and other materials required.
  10. Providing assistance across other departments as needed.
  11. Being conscious of safety measures at all times.
  12. Carrying out all assignments and other required responsibilities on time and productively.
  13. Working to build positive connections with co-workers and customers alike.
  14. Showcasing the capability to juggle a variety of tasks at once as needed.
  15. Prioritizing quality while remaining as effective as possible.
  16. Building positive relationships with workmates, leaving a lasting image.
  17. Gaining an understanding and competency of computer programs.
  18. Managing workflow and communicating adequately with colleagues.
  19. Observing quality and completing tasks efficiently within a given time frame.

Compensation:

$16 - $20 hourly
