GTC is seeking two individuals that are ready to work in a fast-paced development and homebuilding company. Our Design Center is seeking a Design Consultant and Design Consultant Assistant to meet with new home buyers in assisting the design studio process.


$40,000 to $50,000 Annually (plus commission)

Specific Duties and Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:

  • Schedule homebuyer appointments – coordinate low voltage vendor, coordinate pool/outdoor living appointments, plot plan, etc.
  • Email appointment invitation to include welcome letter with the pre-appointment review package.
  • Prior to the design appointment, prepare as follows:
  1. Verify financial approval with Sales Consultant or FBC.
  2. Review option pricing print-outs.
  3. Review contract file for any notations or communication from the Sales team and for any discrepancies in the contract paperwork (Plan, Elevation, Structural Options, Exterior Color, etc.)
  • Conduct Design Studio option selection session with new homebuyers, covering all categories and options offered.
  • Secure all finalized design documentation and option deposit within the time frame required to release the home into production on schedule.
  • Create selections and documentation for inventory homes per the selection guidelines established by the Sales department.
  • Notify Construction team and vendors when sales dept submits “STOP ORDER” notification.
  • Exterior Color Books – Assemble and distribute as needed.
  • Prepare ARB (Architectural Review Board) submittal packages.
  • Homebuyer follow-up as required.
  • Assist in building Design Studio photo library of product images, model images, and completed inventory images.
  • Assist in building Design Studio collateral in an electronic library of various diagrams used during buyer appointments.
  • Maintain and update collateral whenever products are discontinued, dropped or replaced.
  • Studio maintenance: Order, routinely, refreshments, supplies, masks, etc.
  • Keep the Studio organized and clean.
  • Any other department-related task or responsibility as assigned by senior management.

Experience and Attributes:

  • Customer service experience desired and customer service driven attitude a must.
  • Experience in interior design and/or new home construction environments desired.
  • Detail-focused and highly organized and able to review work-in-progress and identify when to adjust priorities as needed.
  • Confident user of Excel, Word, FoxIt Pro or Adobe, PowerPoint.
  • Strong work ethic, comfortable working in team environment and willing to work weekends and/or holidays.
  • Thoughtful and thorough verbal and written communicator.
