Senior Planner

Location: Suwanee, GA/Minneapolis, MN /Hybrid

Job Summary

The Senior Planner’s primary responsibility is to collaborate with a cross-functional internal team at Publisher Services, LLC (PSi) and provide a forecast periodically to the Brand Partners, as well as lead all purchasing functions to ensure on-time inventory flow. The Senior Planner is also responsible for creating and maintaining company budgets both at the customer level and the Brand Partner level. The Senior Planner will also help identify proactive process improvements and potential demand planning software to implement to improve the forecasting and planning processes for PSi. The Senior Planner oversees the product flow and purchasing for assigned Brand Partners and works with the Brand Manager to align on intended purchases.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage data analytic tools, such as Power BI, to analyze sales performance, brand performance and inventory levels.
  • Participates and leads the development of comprehensive Brand Partner business plans that are aligned to customer plans and overall company strategies.
  • Analyze sales data to predict future demand and determine appropriate inventory levels.
  • Manage ordering cycle with all brands to ensure timely delivery of product flow to meet orders and instock goals provided by PSi customers.
  • Create a budget for merchandise purchases based on sales forecast and inventory levels and continuously track performance against the budget and make updates as appropriate.
  • Place orders with brands, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to purchase orders.
  • Monitor inventory levels and proactively manage fast and slow-selling items and implement strategies to optimize inventory turns.
  • Generate reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and vendor performance.
  • Work closely with Brand Managers to ensure on-time launch of new products.
  • Evaluate forecast performance and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Review with the Brand Managers and Sales any excess inventory issues and work torwards solutions to minimize future liabilities.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or 5+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain roles, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Strong financial acumen with an understanding of profit margins, inventory management, and budgeting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external Brand Partners.
  • Can effectively negotiate quantities and delivery time tables to ensure product flow is uninterrupted.
  • Strong cross functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence without authority, gain buy-in, resolve conflict, and drive consensus.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI.
  • Aptitude for spreadsheet and planning tools.
  • Proven ability to work as a self-starter with attention to detail and accuracy
