Role:

Under general supervision, but following established policies and procedures, will be responsible for analyzing user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) designs to ensure our digital products are user-friendly, visually appealing, and aligned with business goals. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, creativity, and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles. Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with The Apple Way principles, of Team Up, Serve with Purpose, Challenge Yourself and Own It. Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Performs other job duties as assigned by Digital Solutions Management.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Digital User Research & Design: Conduct user research for the digital platforms through surveys, interviews, and usability testing to gather insights on user needs and behaviors. Analyze user feedback and data to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement. Plan and conduct usability tests to evaluate the effectiveness of design solutions. Analyze test results and provide actionable recommendations to enhance user experience.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize analytics tools to track user interactions and behaviors on the digital platforms. Assist with generating reports and dashboards to communicate findings and insights to stakeholders along with providing recommendations to the business on the best practices for usability of the digital platforms.
  • Continuous Improvement and Market Research: Stay updated with the latest UX/UI trends, tools and best practices to leverage and assist with making recommendations on user experience. Advocate for user-centered design principles and contribute to continuous improvement of the digital design processes.
  • Documentation Management: Assume responsibility for creating, maintaining, and updating comprehensive documentation of all processes, systems, and digital tools implemented as part of the UX/UI design initiatives for Digital. Utilize Atlassian products, particularly Confluence, as the primary platform for documentation management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Digital Stakeholders, Digital Product and Operations teams, developers and Marketing, to ensure cohesive user experience. Participate in design reviews and provide feedback.
  • Digital Operations Ticket Support: Assist and backup Digital Operations with troubleshooting and resolving Helpdesk Tickets (features such as Zelle, Mobile Deposit, Enrollment, etc.) submitted to Digital Solutions for troubleshooting by internal staff members. Works collaboratively with other department such as IT Operations and Contact Center to identify resolutions.
  • Knowledge and Skills:


Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years Digital Banking or other related financial institution experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in UX/UI design for desktop and mobile applications.
  • Experience with Banking vendors, including Alkami, Fiserv, Vertifi and Jack Henry Symitar EASE highly preferred.
  • Experience with Atlassian Products including Jira and Confluence, is required.
  • Experience releasing member/customer-facing software at a scale in a fast-paced work environment.

Education:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction is preferred, or equivalent length of work experience is required.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong prioritization, problem solving, diagnosis and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand empathize with users’ needs and perspectives.
  • Ability to interact positively and effectively in group and individual situations at all levels within and outside the credit union
  • Ability to work in a team environment, meet deadlines and take on a high level of responsibility and accountability
  • Strong presentation skills

Technical Skills:

  • Design Tools: Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
  • Wireframe and Prototype: Experience with wireframe work and interactive prototyping tools and techniques for a financial services website or application.
  • Analytics: Familiarity with analytics tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, or similar.
  • HTML/CSS: Basic understanding of HTML and CSS to collaborate effectively with developers.
  • Usability Testing: Knowledge of usability testing methodologies and tools for digital banking applications, analyzing user feedback to enhance the overall user experience.
  • Other Skills:
  • The ability to lift 25 lbs. and utilize standard office equipment including, but not limited to, PC, fax, copier, telephone, etc

Other Skills:

  • Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job
  • Proven experience in participating in multiple projects and ability to work with limited supervision
  • Great attention to detail and results driven
  • Knowledge of banking or credit union products, services, policies, and procedures.
