The SJCC is seeking a dynamic and imaginative Senior Content Writer to join our innovative marketing team full-time. This pivotal role will collaborate closely with stakeholders throughout the organization to research, craft, and refine compelling narratives that embody the SJCC’s mission, vision, and values. The Senior Content Writer will play a key role in promoting SJCC programs, initiatives, and events while driving community experiences that amplify profound Jewish connections for every generation.


Responsibilities Summary:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to conceptualize, research, and develop engaging content that aligns with SJCC’s mission and resonates with our target audience.
  • Draft, edit, and proofread copy for a broad range of SJCC communications, including, but not limited to: event collateral and invitations, print and digital ad copy, newsletters, brochures, scripts and talking points, web copy, social media, promotional materials and signage, and feature stories on a variety of subjects.
  • Employ a journalistic approach to storytelling, conducting interviews, and gathering information to create authentic and compelling narratives.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all written communications, adhering to SJCC’s style guidelines and brand standards.
  • Keep existing content fresh by updating and repurposing materials as needed, while also exploring new and innovative ways to communicate the SJCC’s story.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to brainstorm new content ideas, identify relevant trends and topics, and develop strategic plans for content creation and distribution.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to content creation and marketing, incorporating new ideas and techniques into our content strategy.
  • Assist with press releases, media communications, freelance contributor content, and social media.
  • Provide marketing and communications support for programs and events across all departments in the organization, including social media and photography.
  • Provide backup graphic design and video production, as needed.
  • Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines or scheduling needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Washington State Pay Range: $78,000/year to $85,0000/year
  • Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including but not limited to, skills, relevant experience, and specific work location.
Requirements:


Qualifications Summary:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in content creation, writing, or journalism, preferably in a marketing or nonprofit setting.
  • Experience in content creation, copy writing, copy editing; both short- and long-form, in digital and print mediums; ability to produce high-quality social media, print, and online materials; ability to handle multiple project priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with AP Style.
  • Familiarity with current social media outlets and backend CMS platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and content management systems (CMS) preferred.
  • Experience in photography and/or video production a plus.
