As our brand expands across the city, our sales team is ready to grow as well. That's where you come into the picture. We are hiring an entry-level professional sales person to deliver meaningful revenue for the company. You will work alongside some of the most seasoned, successful media sales professionals in the industry. We want someone who can not only keep up, but help set the pace for our growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prospect, identify, and qualify NEW potential business across all categories of 5280’s business. New client outreach, lead generation, and meeting/call scheduling is the primary function.
  • Work directly with managing reps to identify areas of need related to deeper sales efforts within their existing categories. The job is a blend of direct selling and passing off business to existing reps for most efficient closing results.
  • Opportunity to propose and close NEW business independently. In many cases, you’ll share contact info/notes with appropriate managing rep for follow-up and closing.
  • Heightened emphasis on expanding programmatic and targeted digital solutions.
  • Keep 5280 CRM thoroughly updated with new contacts and meeting notes. Also maintain and continuously update a prospecting funnel and pipeline.
  • Maintain a high volume of sales calls each week with clients and agencies to develop, present, and close revenue.
  • Own market research and data sources related to the multimedia plans you’ll help develop alongside the managing sales reps.
  • Attend networking, community, and client events and provide a strong representation of the 5280 brand.
  • Generate ideas for new initiatives and new categories of business.

Qualifications and Characteristics

 

  • 1–2 years of media sales experience or a four-year degree in sales, marketing, or entrepreneurship
  • Strong aptitude for selling media
  • Self-motivated individual who is skilled at uncovering new prospects
  • Competitive spirit—you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy chasing down leads
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Hyper-organized and able to manage a large volume of accounts
  • Able to work well both independently and with a team in a collaborative environment

Salary: 

  • Total Estimated Compensation Range: $60,000–$75,000 
  • Base: $31,000 
  • Commission: 6% on all revenue tied to initial contract sale (either direct sale or having a hand in closing). Commissions uncapped.
  • Potential for annual and/or quarterly bonuses based on KPIs
  • Guaranteed commission of $1,500/month for first three months of employment ($4,500 total)
