Position Overview:
HRF is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Digital Content Intern to support our digital communications and content initiatives. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to learn about digital content management, social media strategy, and data analysis while contributing to impactful campaigns for the Oslo Freedom Forum (OFF) App, HRF.org, and oslofreedomforum.com.
The Digital Content Intern will play a vital role in supporting the Human Rights Foundation’s (HRF) digital communication efforts. As part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to promoting and defending human rights globally, this internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in content management, web and digital platform strategy, and digital advocacy. Working closely with the Website and Marketing team, the intern will contribute to initiatives that amplify the voices of activists, connect with global audiences, and promote a world where freedom and democracy are guaranteed for all.
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about human rights, storytelling, and the digital landscape, seeking to grow their skills while making an impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Management:
- Assist in managing the content backend of the Oslo Freedom Forum (OFF) App, ensuring updates and quality control.
- Collaborate with the website team to help develop and organize content on both hrf.org and oslofreedomforum.com.
- SEO:
- Optimize meta titles, descriptions, tags, and image alt text while conducting keyword research and implementing updates for better SEO.
- Collaborate with content and marketing teams to ensure SEO best practices and assist with website audits and improvements.
- Analytics & Reporting:
- Retrieve and organize key performance data (KPIs) across platforms.
- Support analysis to assess campaign effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor and report SEO performance using Google Analytics to track progress and refine strategies.
- Research & Vetting:
- Conduct research to vet influencers, collaborators, and digital opportunities aligned with the organization’s values.
- Support outreach efforts with thorough research and strategic recommendations.
- Social Media & Marketing Support:
- Help draft and schedule engaging social media content.
- Supporting the coordination of out-of-home advertisements for upcoming conferences.
- Email Marketing:
- Assist with the creation and execution of email marketing campaigns to reach diverse audiences.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Digital Media, Marketing or a related field.
- Interest in digital marketing, content management, and social media strategies.
- Familiarity with SEO, WordPress, and website management tools preferred.
- A strong affinity for HRF’s mission.
- Strong research and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
- A passion for human rights, political freedom, and civil liberties.
