Position Summary:
The Vice President, Product Innovation and Experience Design will be responsible for leading and coordinating all shared services capabilities for the product organization, including Design, Innovation, and ProductOps. This leader will work collaboratively with Provider Data and Member Data Product leaders to provide support for the whole CAQH solution portfolio. The VP will also be responsible for leading the development and delivery of high-impact strategies and innovation initiatives to increase the value of CAQH solutions and drive growth. This role will manage the team responsible for the design of the CAQH platform experience, develop new models for product monetization, and forge partnerships to deliver value - all to improve the overall quality of stakeholders' experiences with CAQH.
The Vice President will lead high-priority external initiatives, including testing, selling, and delivering innovation concepts with and to CAQH customers, prospects, and partners. This work includes understanding customer experiences through a Human Centered Design approach to identify unmet market needs and potential opportunities, concepting and designing compelling innovations, shaping a portfolio of foundational product capabilities that serve both the provider and member data platforms, and delivering on test and pilot programs in the market. This role will also work across all parts of CAQH, including Growth and Business Development, Technology, Finance, Operations, and others to successfully conceptualize, operationalize and deliver innovation for the business. This work includes building strong financial business cases, robust product roadmaps and design process, and being accountable for reporting outcomes.
This leader will play a key role in managing important forums for customer engagement, including CAQH Innovation Council and Workgroups. The Vice President will partner with Executive Sponsors, Product Management teams, and their own shared services resources to set agendas and intent, develop content, facilitate customer engagement and feedback solicitation, meeting logistics, and follow-up. This leader's success will be measured through the value created with platform capabilities, data products, and business innovations, which could include increased revenue and profitability, higher customer value, improved customer engagement and satisfaction, delivery of greater value to the industry and achievement of the CAQH goals.
The Vice President, Product Innovation and Experience Design is a full-time, remote, exempt position and reports to the Chief Product Officer.
Base Salary Range:
$225,000 - $275,000 annually.
Specific Responsibilities: Structure, deploy, and oversee a high-performance team, including managers and individual contributors in ProductOps, product analytics, standards and documentation, Voice of Customer, Human Centered Design, User Experience Design, and innovation strategy. Ensure the progression and implementation of best practices across the shared services areas and support the continued rollout into product teams. Ability to develop vision, strategy, and apply proven methodologies to innovate new digital and data products, introduce novel or disruptive ideas, improve existing processes, and create a culture of innovation within the company Direct the development of business strategies and recommendations through primary and secondary market research. Lead a team of designers to leverage insights, conduct focused problem-solving sessions with internal teams, engage in strategic planning sessions with business leadership, and map out customer experiences and journeys to identify key areas of unmet needs and opportunities for differentiation. Oversee and support the continued advancement of product processes and practices in the management of ProductOps, which focuses on process efficiency and applying quantitative and qualitative insights into our products. Partner with Growth, Finance, and Operations teams to address customer problems and frame business cases, ensuring alignment and collaboration across the organization. Set ways of working, operating in collaboration with external development and third-party partners to design and deliver high-quality products and services. Collaborate with Product and Business Development leadership across the solution development lifecycle, from overall strategy to product ideation and definition and business model development, work through buyer segments, pricing models, and competitive differentiation. Build and expand external relationships with partners; represent product in strategic partnership prioritization and execution, including supporting due diligence and assessment, and defining joint value propositions, partnership structures, business arrangements, and governance models. Influence CAQH teams and leadership to explore new ideas, or pursue new business opportunities through strong concepting, strategic analysis and business case development. Present to executive stakeholders to advocate for strategic recommendations or business cases (including opportunities to present to CAQH executive team, clients, and Board of Directors). Champion and support a culture of customer centricity, innovation, and strategic decision-making across the organization. Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Vice President is expected to perform a supervisory role and may manage 1-6 direct reports at any time. From time to time, the position may include operating as an individual contributor, depending on project needs.
The Vice President will be a steward of Product Innovation and Design department finances and may be asked to manage market research vendors, consultants or other partners. This role will also work closely with CAQH vendors and vendor teams as necessary across projects and products. Product team members are expected to work with all parts of CAQH and may from time-to-time lead cross-functional teams on high-priority initiatives that require broad skillsets.

15+ years of professional experience, including 10+ years in a healthcare technology product, data product, digital strategy, or consulting role. 10+ years of experience in managing resources, budgets, and overseeing performance of products Experience leading teams and methodologies in Human Centered Design and User Experience Design. Proven ability to seek out new opportunities with partners or alliances that support innovation and product efforts Experience gathering and analyzing market insights or competitive intelligence. Proven conceptual, analytical, and financial modeling skills. History of quickly gaining credibility, partnering with business leaders, and exhibiting executive presence. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Education:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience required. Master's degree in relevant field preferred.
