Work with your peer Design Directors and VP of Design to set the direction for design principles, patterns, and processes to ensure a cohesive product experience across the Diligent portfolio. Ensure consistency in design systems and standards across products by partnering with leaders who oversee those respective portfolios. Provide high-level oversight and detailed feedback on design deliverables to maintain quality and ensure alignment with goals. Conduct regular design critiques to elevate team output and foster collective growth. Act as a go-to resource for resolving complex design challenges or strategic decisions. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, discovery, and learning Partnering with your team to see products to release and beyond delivery Evaluate and prioritize projects across the team, ensuring resources are aligned with business goals. Balance short-term tactical needs with long-term strategic design initiatives. Management and mentoring of the product design team. Foster professional growth through one-on-ones, career development plans, and feedback cycles. Required Experience/Skills

8 years of relevant experience in design leadership, 3 of which must be at the director (or similar) level where you managed other design managers. Proficiency in evaluating design skills, delivery, and ability to provide effective feedback and coaching to lead to growth and favorable outcomes. A varied skill profile within User Experience Design, with core expertise in Product Design, Interaction (UX) Design, UI Design or Design Research Experience designing SaaS products for the B2B market in a distributed Agile environment Experience leading the design of products with a high-level of complexity, shepherding them from inception (or redesign) to release to continued enhancement or sunset Awareness of current design tools, including methods ranging from the latest AI tools to knowing when pen and paper is more effective. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience designing mobile and web-based applications A portfolio of work demonstrating your design impact - online or pdf is required for consideration. How someone would not be successful in this role:

Waiting to be told what to do Seeing something that could probably be better and doing nothing about it. An inability to successfully prioritize tasks and time Not taking action to resolve an unfavorable situation Avoiding providing constructive feedback because it's uncomfortable to hear or deliver. Not learning the nuance and depth of the products they support or general awareness of the rest of the products in the Diligent portfolio. Display little curiosity or imagination to explore what's not yet in the world. This role will be interesting to someone who is:

Interested in improving the maturity and sophistication of a product design practice without doing it alone Motivated to learn from a peer group of other Directors and VP of Design instead of being the lone voice of design Intrigued by the design challenges facing a product portfolio largely developed via acquisition across multiple industry verticals Ready to be a part of an organization that expects design to lead and is equally ready to be held accountable to that expectation. Expand their management scope to a larger team, hire a manager to support them, and work with designers and other product peers distributed across the US and Europe. How you'll spend a lot of time:

Reviewing design prototypes and offering constructive feedback. Collaborating with your peer Design Directors to find opportunities for reuse, avoid rework, share research insights, and ensure consistency where appropriate. Meeting with stakeholders to align on project priorities or resolve roadblocks. Coaching individual designers on career growth or project challenges. Presenting the design team's impact and progress in leadership meetings. Refining the design system and ensuring its adoption across teams. U.S pay range

$200,000-$220,000 USD
