The scope of projects will include data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile construction projects. This role will be highly collaborative amongst MEI staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines. MEI is committed to providing opportunities for professional development and growth. This role will be based in Austin, TX or Phoenix, AZ.Job Duties:Support the design and document production of mechanical and plumbing systems for various projectsWriting and editing of mechanical equipment specifications, selecting equipment, mechanical systems, and devicesReview submittals, RFIs, change orders, preparation of record drawings, site visits, inspections and participation in commissioning workEnsure jobs are completed accurately, within deadlines and on budgetMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related fieldSkills in HVAC design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, load software, etc.Familiarity with HVAC codes, standards, and best practicesGood communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesTop-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Proficiency in BIM, CFD, Energy Modeling or other advanced tools and methods for HVAC design and analysisCertification from ASHRAE, LEED, or other relevant organizationsExperience in green building or energy efficiency projects, such as LEED, ENERGY STAR, or USGBCCommissioning experienceActive PE LicensePlumbing design experienceBenefits:All full-time employees receive a comprehensive benefit package that includes, but is not limited to, medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% of medical premiums covered by the employer, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, a 401(k), vacation time, paid holidays off, and yearly performance-based bonus eligibility.MEI is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
