The Role: Creative Content Manager


Newport is a fast-growing fishing brand dedicated to providing high-quality, innovative products for anglers of all levels. We are looking for a Creative Content Manager to lead our content creation efforts, with a strong focus on video production, editing, and filming. As Creative Content Manager, you’ll own Newport’s video and visual storytelling, capturing compelling content that resonates with our audience and fuels brand growth. This role is hands-on, you’ll be filming on the water, editing high-quality videos, and managing content production from concept to distribution. You’ll collaborate with our marketing team, ambassadors, and external creators to produce engaging product videos, educational content, and action-packed field footage. What You’ll Do:


  • Deliver 15+ high-quality content pieces per month, including video assets, photo assets, and educational materials optimized for various marketing and social channels.
  • Conduct 5+ field video shoots annually, producing at least 10 high-quality content pieces per shoot.
  • Film, edit, and produce high-quality video content for Newport’s marketing, social media, and YouTube channels.
  • Build and manage an ambassador content creator team of 4+ individuals across the U.S. in collaboration with the Brand Manager.
  • Optimize video and photo content for each platform to maximize reach, engagement, and performance.
  • Edit and finalize all received content within 5 business days.
  • Travel to and conduct field shoots, capturing high-quality video and photo assets that align with Newport’s brand standards.
  • Own Newport’s DAM tool, ensuring proper organization, tagging, accessibility, and regular updates.
  • Prioritize engaging, on-brand educational content that connects with Newport’s audience.
  • Repurpose assets across multiple platforms to extend content longevity and increase exposure.
  • Ensure all contracted assets meet brand standards and are delivered on time.
  • Deliver assets for 100% of campaigns at least 7 days before launch.
  • Finalize monthly content calendars for YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook by the 25th of the previous month.
  • Meet all posting and engagement timelines and performance benchmarks.
  • Develop and execute innovative content strategies aligned with Newport’s brand, campaign goals, and seasonal needs.
  • Reside within 150 miles of Carlsbad, CA, and be available at the Newport Carlsbad R&D facility for one day every other week to shoot content.


Who You Are: 


  • You live within 150 miles of Carlsbad, CA. 
  • Expertise in video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent software
  • Proficiency in video production, including camera operation, lighting, and sound
  • Experience capturing high-quality footage in outdoor and on-the-water environments
  • Strong storytelling skills and a deep understanding of visual branding
  • Hands-on content creation experience, particularly in outdoor or fishing-related content
  • Proficiency with social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook
  • Experience managing and organizing digital assets with DAM software preferred
  • Basic knowledge of project management tools and workflow organization
  • Excellent communication, with an eye for detail.
  • A self-starter who thrives in remote work environments.
  • You can handle the physical demands of an onsite video and photo shoot, in remote locations. 
  • You have experience managing creative contractor work.
  • You’re an outdoor activity enthusiast, specifically kayaking or fishing. 


Salary


up to $90,000 USD annually (based on experience)
