PRIMARY DUTY: The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Northwest Missouri State University is seeking to create a pool of applicants for adjunct positions that teach online courses for the graduate program in Geographic Information Science. Courses are 7-weeks and may be in the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Education: PhD in Geography or relative field with specialization in GIS
Experience: GIS and remote sensing experience
Skills: Skills and experience with instructional technology
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: PhD in Geography or relative field with specialization in GIS
Certification/License: Graduate certificate in GIS
Experience: College-level teaching experience in Geographic Information Science and evidence of experience in online course delivery
Skills: Demonstrated innovative teaching methodologies to engage learners; instructional technology skills; interpersonal skills, including oral communication and collaboration; committed to a focus on student success; Programming Language: R, Python, or JavaScript
WORKING CONDITIONS: Faculty can work remotely and do not need to be on campus as the courses are delivered online. This position will work in an academic environment with collaborative team-based faculty.
EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: A desktop or laptop computer including GIS software (ArcGIS), stable internet, Canvas LMS, Zoom web conferencing, and other online learning technologies.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to complete essential online classroom functions.
