Summary: Provides support services to visually impaired students enrolled in regular classrooms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: provides direct instruction on a part-time basis in academic areas to visually impaired students enrolled in regular classes and self-contained classes of other exceptionalities provides supplementary teaching materials to the classroom teacher serves as liaison between the school and the home for the visually impaired students Secures large print and/or braille textbooks and other instructional materials consults with classroom teachers and others serving visually impaired students arranges for and schedules periodic evaluations of visually impaired students
Other Duties:
Other duties as assigned that are related to the functions of the position.
Essential Functions/Qualifications/Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Must Possess a valid Louisiana Teacher's certificate in the area of Visually Impaired.

Technological Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in general use of a computer, the use of Email as a form of communication, and other job-specific equipment, software, and/or applications.
