To help drive awareness, engagement, and support for our cause, the American Cancer Society is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Brand Marketing to lead brand strategy and bring the American Cancer Society story to life through various campaigns that resonate with mass market target audiences.This strategic marketing professional will play a pivotal role in crafting compelling content and developing integrated data-driven marketing plans to continue to grow the American Cancer Society brand and deliver against stated brand metric objectives. This role, reporting to the VP Marketing Strategy, will work closely with marketing leadership and collaborate with peers across the marketing and communications departments.***This is a remote position that can be home-based anywhere within the United States.***MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESBrand Development & LeadershipBrand and Content Strategy: Drive the development and implementation of audience-led brand strategic plans, including applying audience segmentation insights, leveraging brand positioning, and executing long-term content planning.Audience Mindset: Working with Insights team partners, develop deep understanding of key mass market audiences through research, journey mapping, and ongoing analysis.Enterprise Brand Content Strategy: Develop and oversee a unique brand point-of-view and opportunities for enterprise content development across key audience groups.Business Influence: Communicate strategic opportunities and recommendations to senior leaders, negotiating solutions that maintain brand integrity and drive business growth.Campaign Development & ExecutionOmni-Channel Direction: Lead the development and implementation of sophisticated national integrated brand advertising campaigns across various channels (broadcast, PSA, digital, social, print, etc.) to differentiate the brand and drive business outcomes.Collaboration: Partner with internal cross-functional teams (strategy, creative, insights, digital) and external agencies to create and optimize engaging content across various platforms to attract, inform, and inspire mass market target audiences.Test & Learn: Drive innovation through test-and-learn methodologies, continually optimizing campaign performance and identifying new opportunities.Reporting & Communications: Present brand marketing strategies, campaign results and learnings to audiences at all levels of the organization to influence alignment and/or strategic decision making.Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends and cultural shifts to evolve our approach to brand marketing through business cases.Budget Management: Monitor program and project budgets and resource plans effectively and in collaboration with Project Management, to optimize donor dollars to achieve the best results.Quality Assurance: Ensure that all marketing materials and campaigns meet the highest quality and brand standards and are delivered on time.FORMAL KNOWLEDGE7+ years experience with a record of progressively responsible positions and cross-functional team leadership.Deep understanding and proven track record of developing brand and content strategy.Proven track record of success in developing and executing audience-led, data-driven multi-channel marketing campaigns and strategies.Expertise and proven success in brand storytelling, audience segmentation and messaging/content development.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills (written and verbal) to influence at all levels.Understanding of the current media environment, including traditional, PSA, digital and emerging platforms plus current trends.Familiarity with the non-profit and consumer giving landscape. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended.
