The Department of Communication invites applications for a full-time Instructor/Assistant Professor in Broadcasting to begin in August 2025. Duties and Responsibilities

Teach courses in broadcasting including media content creation and editing. Provide a quality learning experience for all students in accordance with their needs and abilities while maintaining the basic integrity of course standards and objectives. Teach and maintain courses in accordance with university and departmental policies and procedures. Prepare and teach at least 15 credit hours of undergraduate courses per semester. Develop syllabi for courses and ensure course content meets all requirements. Deliver timely and meaningful feedback to students on progress in courses. Utilize Blackboard as LMS for student assignments, announcements, grades, and feedback. Assist with student advising. Participate in departmental, college, and university meetings. Serve as a dual credit liaison. Contribute to departmental assessment and continuous improvement. Work with college and department in recruitment and retention activities.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Broadcasting is preferred. May hold a Master's Degree in Media or Communications with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Broadcasting or hold a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting with five years of professional industry experience. Recent industry experience within Broadcasting/Media Production is preferred. Demonstrated expertise or experience in the following: media production, content creation, and editing. Demonstrated teaching experience in Broadcasting/Media Production. Experience using and/or teaching Adobe Creative Suite. Preference will be given to applicants with higher-education teaching, programmatic assessment, and advising experience. Demonstrated effectiveness working with populations having diverse values, and/or from varied cultures and backgrounds. Individual must be able to work cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment.
