POSITION TITLE:
Senior Technical Designer - Woven
REPORTS TO:
Manager / Director / VP - Technical Design
PURPOSE:
Responsible for examining and measuring proto, fit and production samples to ensure accurate execution of requested measurements, quality, and construction and overall fit of garments. Aid Designers in achieving desired point of view of garments when creating technical packages and evaluating overall fit and construction.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Represent the Company interest of universal and consistent fit and proper construction. Liaise with Design and Production to communicate company point of view to vendors. Able to identify construction issues and quality concerns and recommend solutions to solve, communications with CFT & partners. Lead / facilitate fit sessions. Possess strong technical knowledge and pattern making skills to act as a point person within the department. Communicate development and fit information, from initial concept through TOP samples, through written reports, phone conversations, and sketches and/or pattern corrections, in a timely manner. Maintain fit standards, written reports, records and samples. Confirm all grade rules are correct in the tech pack to produce compliant product for fit in each size. Fit on multiple sizes. Create and maintain tracking reports of sample status. Support & develop technical design talent. Able to support the process to onboard a new vendor. Perform other duties as assigned. Able to work in a hybrid environment, which may/will require working in person/in-office for a portion or all of a week based on the needs of the business. In person/in-office collaboration may be required for work centralized around product development, milestone meetings, fittings, and approvals. Overseas travel may be required. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and education. 8-10+ years related experience; pattern skills required. Exceptional knowledge of woven categories, fit, and finishing and manufacturing processes. Experience in knits a bonus. Management experience preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to partner between many departments / internal business partners. Strong Microsoft Suite skills required. PLM knowledge and CLO is a plus. Must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks at once, prioritize based on deadlines and updates in deliverables Ability to handle multiple seasons and work with a sense of urgency. Ability to travel to factories domestic and overseas. PAY/BENEFITS INFORMATION:
Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
