Job Description:
The editorial assistant will provide support for the editorial department at LSU Press. Please provide cover letter, resume and three (3) professional references including name, title, phone number and e-mail address. A copy of your transcript(s) may be attached to your application. However, official transcripts are required prior to hire. Attach ALL required documents under the "Resume/CV" section of your application.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and format manuscripts for electronic editing, using Editor's Toolkit or other applicable programs. Clean and format indexes. Perform final cleanup of edited MSS. 70%
Assist editorial staff in checking proof and editing indexes, as assigned. Assist the department in tasks related to manuscript transmittal and production editing as well as other departmental tasks, as assigned. 20%
Serve as the department's liaison with the Library of Congress cataloging department. Complete cataloging-in-publication applications for books on each seasonal list. Perform editorial work on reprints and new paperbacks, occasionally including copyediting of new material. Other duties as assigned. 10%
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
