License and Certification Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

Education Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field required.

Experience Qualifications: Five years of progressively responsible experience in a technology related field required, including the management of AV media technology operations in a large environment. Experience in K-12 AV media development, service and support, and previous leadership experience in a related AV media or broadcast technology field preferred.

Skills Qualifications: Strong leadership skills and the ability to build productive cross-functioning working relationships within the organization; outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, including strong presentation and instruction skills; advanced project management skills; ability to balance multiple responsibilities; experience with Microsoft Office Suite; experience in applying and maintaining Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) concepts; and ability to integrate technology effectively.

Primary Responsibilities: Direct and manage the technological support provided to the Board of Education and administration of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) and direct the AV media and broadcast technology deployments, service, and support for local schools and district offices.

  1. Direct the support provided to the Board of Education of Gwinnett County Public Schools by providing world-class technological assistance.
    • Direct the support of day-to-day technology and system needs and issues.
    • Plan, coordinate and ensure after-hours support and weekend support, as needed.
    • Assist with application specific issues and needs to utilize current and future tools and resources.
    • Support the Board of Education Meetings with technology and processes required by the district's Board.
    • Direct the support of the e-Agenda.
    • Provide technological oversight with logistical aspects of the meetings.
  2. Direct and support the administration of GCPS in meeting and exceeding the demands of technology in day-to-day operations.
    • Ensure processes are in place to deliver world-class customer support for administrative staff.
    • Participate in developing and implementing processes to effectively share, inform, and communicate data.
    • Implement and develop new technology systems and procedures.
    • Act as the liaison between GCPS administration and the Technology and Innovation Division.
    • Collaborate with other departments and vendors to support ongoing initiatives.
  3. Collaborate with Instructional Technology and Innovation Department to identify innovative technology and strategies for continuous integration in district operations.
  4. Lead and direct district-wide AV media technology retrofit and upgrades.
    • Evaluate current and future AV media technology solutions.
    • Collaborate on selecting appropriate AV media technology solutions.
    • Provide project management for deployments and installations.
    • Engage with vendors to negotiate best pricing for equipment and services.
  5. Lead and direct AV media and broadcast technology support and repair services.
    • Review incident reports for timely responses.
    • Ensure effective communication with customers.
    • Provide reports on service records for analysis.
  6. Collaborate on the annual AV and Interactive Technology Bid.
    • Recommend AV technology needs for local schools.
    • Provide oversight for product descriptions and specifications.
    • Evaluate bids and determine winners.
  7. Assist the Executive Director of Enterprise Support Services with management functions.
    • Supervise AV media technology staff.
    • Provide budget assistance regarding AV media technology projects.
  8. Maintain technical expertise and knowledge of emerging technologies.
  9. Provide leadership for the continuous improvement of processes for the Department of Administration Support and AV media technology.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
