Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Senior Engineer to support mechanical systems design and integration on the EPFD (Electrified Powertrain Flight Demonstrator) program. Candidates must have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical design and analysis, routing, and integration of fluid transport systems including fuel, oil, fire suppression, bleed and cooling air and anti-icing.
  • Perform mechanical design and analysis for supporting components including brackets, manifolds, and secondary structure.
  • Manage the functional and physical interfaces between your assigned subsystems and the aircraft.
  • Generate and release part, assembly, and installation drawings using model-based definition, 2D drawings and GD&T.
  • Communicate information about design, requirements, and performance of the applicable systems between the design team, management, customer, subcontractors, and vendors.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum of B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or related STEM discipline) plus 15+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of technical education and experience).
  • Demonstrated experience with fluid transport systems, routing, and mechanical part and assembly design.
  • 7+ years experience in CATIA V5.
  • 7+ years experience with GD&T and drawings per ASME Y14.5.
  • 7+ years experience with model-based definition for parts and assemblies.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
Desired Requirements:
  • Experience with SmarTeam PLM system.
  • Familiarity with Boeing fluid transport design standard BDM-1622.
  • Experience in the development of air vehicle systems, from conceptual design through production.
  • Experience with composite part design.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision on these tasks.
