Reuters is seeking a Regional Editorial Administrator, North America . In this role, you will play a key role in project planning and managing inter-departmental processes across the organization to meet the needs of our editorial teams on the ground. You would work with other regional and global Operations team members to plan and coordinate setup of ground operations at major event coverage such as the Olympics or World Cup or in-person training courses for our journalists. This role contributes to financial performance, operating efficiency, and client satisfaction by implementing or operationalizing Reuters' strategic business plans.

The successful candidate will report into the regional General Manager and will be based in Washington, DC. New York will be considered as an alternative location.

About the Role

As our Regional Editorial Administrator , you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with daily operations of Reuters Editorial groups in the U.S. & Canada in a manner that supports business objectives, ensures efficiency, optimizes company resources. Helping to develop metrics for capturing, analyzing, and reporting effectiveness. Recognize issues and escalate problems through appropriate channels.
  • Cooperation with senior editorial management and other departments across the company (Facilities and Real Estate, HR, Accounts Payable, Technology, etc.), shepherding tasks through a large, international organization.
  • Identifying, developing, and implementing opportunities to improve processes.
  • Planning and executing ad hoc projects that support our news gathering operation.
  • Reporting key business decision-making information to management on both an ad-hoc and recurring basis.
  • Contributing to the business's strategic planning process. Plans may require involvement in predicting operational Travel & Expense needs, support the development and roll out of new products, etc.
  • Managing invoices for resources used by regionwide teams such as the vehicle fleet or our accounts with third-party information databases.
  • Providing support with vendor set up including risk-management vetting, working closely with the Global Operations Team.

About You

To be our Regional Editorial Administrator , you will likely have:

  • Excellent organizational skills, experience in office administration and creative problem solving.
  • Superior project management skills and an ability to juggle multiple simultaneous deadlines.
  • An ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure with great flexibility and calm.
  • Experience navigating a large organization with distinctly separate vertical teams and functions.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working within a journalism organization or other field with similar demands, policies and risk environments.
  • An availability to occasionally address urgent support issues outside of normal business hours when there is a major breaking news situation.
  • Experience overseeing or coaching a small team is a plus.
