The Associate Director Strategic Customer Marketing will be responsible for leading the strategy and execution of Retail Marketing for the US Diabetes Care organization. The position will work in close partnership with US Sales Leadership to ensure that short and long-term growth objectives for the Diabetes Care US Region are achieved. Working collaboratively with the US Sales Leadership, Retail Account Managers, Marketing Team, Commercial Effectiveness, Customers, Analytics Team, Legal, Regulatory, Medical, and Finance, this role will be the owner and driver of strategy development, functional planning, and execution of Retail Marketing programs.

Qualifications

XPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • BS/BA in Business, Life Sciences, or a closely related discipline. MBA desirable.
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant Marketing and Sales experience in Pharmacy/Medical Device/OTC healthcare/retail marketing desirable.
  • Retail Pharmacy sales operations a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience leading teams.
  • Understanding of adjacent white space categories.
  • Knowledge of the Diabetes care market.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Deep knowledge of Retail Drug Industry Trade (Wholesalers, Retail Chains, Independents, Buying Groups), Mail Order PBMs, Institutional, IDNs, GPOs, and payors.
  • Strong ability to gain access to and nurture retail customer relationships at all levels of the customer organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement retail/commercial strategies to deliver results.
  • Track record of achievement in delivering large and/or multiple projects and influencing business outcomes.
  • Sound decision-making capabilities and the ability to make decisions, even in absence of consensus when necessary.
  • Strong strategic thinking and thought leadership capabilities to identify growth opportunities and prioritization.
  • Creative out-of-the-box thinker who is intellectually curious, stays current on new trends, and takes calculated risks with novel ideas.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to set a vision, lead change, and motivate others.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities. Ability to routinely work on multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively prioritizing.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to utilize organizational channels, experience, and influencing skills to effectively negotiate and persuade others.
  • Customer segmentation and targeting to inform prioritization and deliver relevant programs.
  • Customer value proposition development to drive brand differentiation and customer loyalty.
  • Creating, defining, and analyzing program data to learn and optimize programs.
  • Development and execution of customer marketing plans.
  • Selling and negotiation skills both with external customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment.

  • Solid business acumen.
  • Willingness and flexibility to meet travel requirements (up to 35%).
