Job Description Summary
The Graduate Assistant- Technology Projects & Communications will provide support for University technology in regards to: portal development and administration, technology communication services, technology professional development activities, and end-user support.
Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Perform technology-related duties across multiple aspects of technology, which includes responsibilities related to the enterprise portal environment, technology communications, and technology professional development activities
-Assists in developing portal design specifications, standards, policies, testing plans, modification requirements, and documentation
-Assists in developing, coordinating and conducting portal training for users on the University's enterprise portal platform
- Assists in the development of the Office of Technology monthly newsletter and various communication platforms
-Ability to install, configure, and provide basic training of computer applications
-Perform any necessary diagnostic evaluation of portal-related issues through contact with the user (either via telephone, e-mail or in person)
-Ability to work independently and in team environments
-Work closely with end-users to ensure technology needs are fulfilled
-Assist in the training and mentoring of student employee staff
-Willing and able to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend shifts
-Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Must be enrolled, and maintain satisfactory performance in one of Lewis University's graduate programs. Must possess a strong working and technical knowledge of PC and Apple hardware, as well as practical experience in widely used software, such as MS Office, Outlook, Internet browsers and corresponding operating systems. Experience with web development tools and mobile app software is preferred. Must be an effective communicator with a friendly, professional customer service-oriented manner. Must be willing to cross-train and rotate job functions to gain a wider support perspective and breadth of expertise in meeting support needs. Ability to work well as a member of a team is essential.
