JOB SUMMARY The Security Lieutenant oversees the efficient delivery of security services and provides leadership to a medium-sized workforce at the Chugach Electric southcentral power generation facility located near Minnesota Parkway and International Airport Road in Anchorage. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to workforce management, issuing tasks and post assignments, performing administrative duties (payroll, scheduling, reporting), and interacting with the client for daily matters related to the execution of the contract. The Security Lieutenant ensures all functions are performed in compliance with the contract’s scope of work, DUS policies, post orders, and all applicable laws, regulations and operational procedures. The schedule for this position is a 2x2 week
rotation , with an estimated starting annual salary of $60,700. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 21 years of age High School diploma or GED 4-5 years of experience in law enforcement, military police, corrections, or private security 2 years of prior supervisory experience Ability to read, write and speak English Valid driver’s license. A reliable means of transportation and communication. Alaska State Unarmed Security Officer License or able to obtain. First Aid/CPR/AED certifications or able to obtain within 120 days after hired Must be able to complete minimum job training requirements (provided by the company) including OC Pepper Spray, Arrests and Handcuffing, Defensive Driving, and others. Able to work independently with little or no supervision, ensuring the best interests of safety and security for the client. Ability to lead with professionalism, respect and integrity at all times. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Strong decision-making and incident/event management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office As a condition of employment, must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check, drug test, and a post-offer physical/fitness for duty evaluation. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree 5+ years of supervisory experience in the security industry Knowledge of delivering security services and developing Security Post Orders in the private sector. Advanced skills utilizing common office-related computer programs plus ability to learn proprietary programs unique to client (CCTS). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage day-to-day operations at the assigned client job site and provide oversight of the DUS security workforce. Act as a liaison between client(s), DUS Management Team, and Security Officers. Enforce contract standards. Provide subject expertise to the client concerning the security program. Coordinate security services in accordance with the approved facility security plan. Provide protection of work site(s), personnel and assets from events such as assault, theft, vandalism, harassment and other disruptive incidents. Perform searches of people, vehicles, buildings, and large outdoor areas. Affect an arrest, if necessary, using handcuffs. Participate in the client's incident management process as required. Ensure notification is made to law enforcement personnel and other emergency responders for timely responses. Conduct incident investigations and complete appropriate documentation/reports. Apply site-specific post orders, facility security plans, emergency action plans, and other guidelines. Maintain an excellent knowledge of and apply DUS policies and procedures. Ensure all documentation required by DUS and client is submitted accurately and timely. Utilize clear communication skills while providing information to others, mediating disputes, and investigating incidents. Supervise, lead and mentor the security team. Coordinate and/or conduct training for the security workforce. Assume temporary responsibility of posts and/or special projects in the absence of staff. Promote a respectful and professional workplace environment. Safely operate a motor vehicle in varying weather conditions. Complete all company/client required training. May be required to respond to urgent matters on weekends and evenings. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner. Willingness to perform other duties as required.
