Applied Scientist, Outbound Communications, Automated Marketing Events Job ID: 2910955 | Amazon.com Services LLC The Outbound Communications organization is seeking a highly motivated applied scientist. We are innovating and building scientific solutions to delight Amazon customers with timely, highly personalized, and relevant marketing messages across digital channels such as email, mobile, and SMS. As an applied scientist in Outbound, you will be tasked with leading scientific innovations using generative AI technology to create personalized messages using state-of-the-art machine learning techniques for customers across various platforms. You will utilize large language models (LLMs) fueling today's AI growth, employing retrieval augmented generation (RAG) along with enhanced prompt engineering as a framework to combine LLMs with information retrieval systems and build models to generate and optimize marketing messages for customers.

Key Job Responsibilities As an applied scientist in Outbound, you will: Own end-to-end model development for generating personalized messages for customers. Partner with product managers and business stakeholders to understand business/marketing use cases. Translate often open-ended requirements into scientific problems, conduct relevant research, and spearhead the development of state-of-the-art models. Define success metrics and independently run experiments to gauge the efficiency of your models. Design and set up experiments to assess the efficiency of the messages in real-world scenarios. Present scientific findings to product/marketing stakeholders and guide them in decision-making to maximize long-term benefits for Amazon. Code effectively and closely partner with the software engineering team to implement solutions in production. Document and publish research-driven solutions to influence the scientific community both within and outside of Amazon.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications. Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, or Perl.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with popular deep learning frameworks such as MxNet and TensorFlow. Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
