Fascinated by the fast-moving world of communications and media, with a global, geopolitical focus? The Communications and Marketing team is seeking an intern to support the team in achieving its goals of dominating the political risk analysis space in both traditional and digital media. The intern will be responsible for monitoring media mentions and tracking trends in coverage, maintaining the press contact database, helping draft pitch emails and press releases, and creating detailed media lists by key sectors and geographies.
This internship will provide opportunities to learn about the geopolitical risk field, develop competencies applicable to the work in communications and public relations, develop solid contexts in journalism, gain experience in traditional and digital communications, and explore the intersection of business, government, the public sector, and the media. Applicants should be undergraduate students or actively enrolled in a graduate academic institution.

Types of responsibilities include:
Monitoring media mentions and producing a weekly firmwide internal email, EG in the News Updating and consolidating the press contact database Creating detailed press lists organized by key sectors and geographies Attending the occasional in-person media interviews or tapings Drafting pitch emails and a press release ahead of thought leadership events or products Assisting the marketing director with competitor analysis, audience development, and campaigns Executing data collection and analysis on media mentions for the Q3 report Tracking analyst speaking opportunities at events and conferences Helping the Communications team launch whitepapers and promote client events, including press outreach, social media content, and planning press roundtable(s) Close coordination with OOP (Office of the President) and OOM (Office of Management) at Eurasia Group Attending weekly meetings, including a daily firmwide morning meeting Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in academic institution, graduate-level enrollment a plus Keen understanding of the US and international media market Strong writing skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and a team-oriented mindset Academic background in political science, international relations, communications, or journalism Some professional experience (including internships/fellowships) in media, government, NGO, philanthropic or consulting institutions is a plus Full business proficiency in the English language; additional language skills are a plus Must be able to work from the NY office 3 days per week Must be available during the full duration of the program
