Job Description
GGS Information Services, a globally recognized technical publications and engineering services company that serves leading manufactures in transportation, aerospace, construction, and agricultural equipment, has an immediate need for qualified candidates to fill the position of Technical Writer at our customer's facility in the Cartersville, GA area.
We are looking for a technical writer with a passion for technical communication, ready to help us redefine the user experience of our customers. The Technical Writer researches, writes, and edits technical information for documents such as operation manuals, service technician manuals, and parts catalogues. They collaborate with engineers, field personnel, trainers, and more to ensure quality information for customers. They ensure that content is accurate, complete, and meets quality and style standards. Supports establishing writing standards and style guidelines. Supports researching innovative new solutions to legacy methods of writing to improve the customer experience.

PRIMARY DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
- Technical publication development for Service manuals, Operation and Maintenance manuals, Parts Catalogs and technical bulletins
- Project Management of new products and product enhancements
- System and workflow improvements using technology and project planning
- Lead projects for improving internal and external systems to enhance the customer experience through content development and digital delivery
- Other tasks as identified to properly accomplish existing workload
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in engineering, technical communication, or related field, or 5-10 years equivalent work experience.
- Understanding of bills of materials, engineering change releases, and engineering drawings required.
- Experience working with XML writing systems, DITA preferred
- Experience managing projects on time.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
- Microsoft Office/365 and current applications proficiency.
- Previous experience with Adobe products: Acrobat, FrameMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with multiple teams
- Strong technical background hydraulic/electrical/mechanical systems
- Aptitude to research and quickly understand new machine technologies
