Position Summary:

Reporting into the IT/Web Lead, the full-stack Drupal Web Developer will contribute to solutions on the front and back end by working with the IHI team, contractors, and business partners to ensure any proposed solutions meet industry best practices.

Position Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in developing and supporting all IHI's digital properties and related services as needed, including websites, web applications, mobile apps, live & virtual educational events, email, social media channels and more
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, and maintain Web applications and related services
  • Responsibly develop any new solutions with flexibility, legibility, consistency, scalability, security, performance, and ease of maintenance in mind
  • Share ideas for strengthening IHI's mission, business, production workflows, customer experiences, technology stack, etc.
  • Stay abreast of and utilize current industry best practices, web technologies, and development techniques
  • Communicate effectively with staff across depts w/ varying levels of technical expertise
  • Employ standard testing approaches to ensure deliverables are free of common errors
  • Use team project management tools and processes to manage work in a transparent, timely and efficient manner
  • Collaborate effectively with the IT Digital/Web Lead, marketing, business teams, contractors, and vendors in alignment with IT strategy and organizational objectives

Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Technical

  • Strong knowledge of Web fundamentals, including the latest versions of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and related tooling
  • Experience using best practice Web application design and development approaches
  • Experience integrating popular Web applications, frameworks, and services
  • Knowledge of application performance and scalability issues
  • Knowledge of databases and SQL
  • Experience integrating with APIs
  • Able to use Git code repositories effectively
  • Advanced knowledge of Drupal development & theming using Drupal 8-11, Drush, Composer, Twig, etc

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team-collaboration skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to speak, write, and communicate effectively in grammatical English

Position Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of web development with specific emphasis on full stack web development
  • Demonstrated success in:
    • Developing custom Web solutions using PHP & Drupal CMS
    • Using modern Javascript/Typescript and related libraries or frameworks such as Node, ES6, Web Components, etc.
    • APIs in SOAP, REST, and/or GraphQL
    • Use Git code repositories effectively
    • Producing successful mobile-first Responsive Web Designs

Preferred

  • Post secondary education, certification, or equivalent work experience in IT/web development
  • Demonstrated success in:
    • Coding practices that are secure and scalable
    • Automated testing tools and techniques
    • Ecommerce / payment solutions
    • Marketing automation and related solutions
    • Familiarity with software development life cycle and related models
    • SEO, tag managers, analytics and reporting
    • Custom module development
    • Concerns around multilingual websites, ux and/or accessibility
  • Experience working in or with non-profit and/or global project-based organizations

Physical Attributes:

  • Ability to Sit for Extended Periods: Capability to work at a desk for long durations
  • Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using a computer, including typing, mouse handling, and other office equipment
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to read and view a computer screen for extended periods
  • Hearing and Speaking: Clear communication over phone and video calls
  • Environment Setup: Access to a quiet, professional home office setup conducive to focused work and virtual meetings
  • Lifting: Occasionally requires lifting up to 25 lbs as needed
