This is a temporary position.
You will play a pivotal role in Marriott’s future by helping drive the execution of Marriott’s marketing measurement and analytics program. The Director will be responsible for designing and implementing causal incrementality experiments, models, and analyses to deliver insights around causal marketing performance to marketing stakeholders across the organization. The Director operates with considerable independence, developing actionable insights while managing multiple competing priorities and stakeholders.
As a Marketing Analytics Director, you will work on a cross-functional team to create and execute measurement methodologies and support ongoing analytical and measurement needs. You will be responsible for defining, implementing, and executing measurement methodologies to accurately capture and convey campaign impact. You will leverage effective communication skills to translate complex analyses into understandable insights. You are naturally curious and stay current on the MadTech/AdTech ecosystem, digital marketing, and retail media landscape.
This position is part of the Data and Analytics - Topline Analytics team, which is charged with developing and utilizing state-of-the-art analytic approaches and generating business insights about customer attitudes and behaviors across all customer-facing touch points along the B2C customer journeys.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required:
- 4-year degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Operations Research, Business, Math or other quantitative discipline.
- 7+ years of work experience in analytics, data science, marketing strategy or consulting, advertising, demonstrating progressive career growth and exceptional performance in analytically driven organizations.
- Understanding of core measurement science concepts: experimentation and measurement frameworks (AB testing, matched market, Marketing Mix Modeling, causal inferences, etc.), statistical sampling techniques, hypothesis testing, and power analysis.
- Strong technical and analytical foundation, with relevant experience in digital media advertising reporting and technology being a plus (including on/offsite advertising reporting, DSPs, ad serving/data technology, etc.).
- Experience gathering data with SQL required. Experience manipulating large data sets for statistical analysis in Python, R, and visualizing outputs in Tableau is required. Adobe Analytics and Google Campaign Manager experiences are required.
- Proven experience presenting analytical insights and answering technical/analytical questions.
- Experience end-to-end designing, building, automating, and scaling measurement products.
- Strong strategic and critical thinking skills; strong bias towards data-based decision making with the ability to break down complex problems and formulate plans.
- Strong conceptual skills and ability to translate theoretical concepts into analytical or research methodologies and tools.
- Understand and adhere to the principles of data quality management, Agile, data privacy, and modern marketing best practices.
- Excellent project management and verbal and written communication skills required, especially in the context of managing processes and delivering technical analysis across diverse stakeholder sets.
Education & Experience Preferred:
- Advanced degree in professional studies, operations research, applied mathematics, finance, economics, etc.
- 10+ years of work experience in marketing and media analytics or digital analytics preferred.
- People management experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience influencing a business or marketing strategy through the application and/or management of advanced statistical techniques and data-driven solutions.
- Experience working in B2C environments with hands-on expertise in customer modeling and analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to mine large data sets and synthesize insights into stellar visualizations.
- Previous experience balancing hands-on work while also leading a team.
- Demonstrated success with data exploration skills, and mining billions of records.
- Previous experience working in the digital marketing and media landscape, attribution, identity management, and CRM preferred.
- Experience developing and implementing attribution and marketing mix models preferred.
- Experience with DOE/RCT and A/B and multivariate testing in a marketing or digital landscape.
- Experience with digital marketing platforms including Google, Campaign Manager, Facebook, AdWords, SA 360, GA 360 is a plus.
- Experience analyzing customer behavior and profiles, building propensity models and segments for targeting is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to execute advanced analytic tasks (including but not limited to predictive modeling, segmentation, DOE, forecasting, etc.) and create meaningful analytical outputs is a plus.
- Experience presenting analysis and recommendations to senior level executives, with a demonstrated track record of generating insight through analysis and presenting the information in a manner which impacts key strategy or investment decisions. Hands-on work experience developing and delivering projects in a consulting setting is a strong plus.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Core Responsibilities:
- Translate campaign data and measurement into clear insights and actionable solutions for business.
- Regularly validate all measurement & campaign performance.
- Support the development & execution of the measurement roadmap.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and Engineers to design and create new analytical models, measurement methodologies & pipelines, and visualization dashboards & tools.
- Partner effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure business needs around measurement & reporting are captured & reflected in standardized measurement & reporting offerings & templates.
- Leverage a data-driven approach to evaluate optimization opportunities on measurement capabilities/tools.
- Execute new strategies, opportunities, and innovation for broader Marriott business.
Leadership:
- Lead the team to deliver strategic analysis and reporting to drive business & customer value.
- Translate high-level business problems into more specific questions which can then be answered by data-driven analysis and recommendations.
- Develop innovative analytical methodologies to answer strategic questions across the organization and empower others to apply your methodology to new problems.
- Present data with a clear point of view so that insights can be used to help drive business strategy.
- Ensure all team outputs are high quality and credible for stakeholder consumption.
The pay range for this position is $60.38 to $95.58 per hour.
