What You Will Be Doing:
As the face of Northern Region DOT&PF, you’ll be at the heart of our public outreach, media relations, and digital storytelling. Your mission? To create engaging content that connects Alaskans with the transportation projects shaping their communities. From crafting compelling social media posts to producing high-impact publications and coordinating with the press, you’ll do it all. In this fast-paced role, you’ll be the go-to expert for media requests, ensuring clear, timely, and accurate communication—especially during critical events. You’ll collaborate with local governments, tribal entities, and interagency partners to keep the public informed and engaged.
Working closely with the Communications Team and the Northern Region Director, you’ll develop visuals, written content, and digital materials for social media, websites, and public outreach events. You’ll also play a key role in shaping DOT&PF’s voice, ensuring messaging is consistent across all channels. Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:
- Communications and Media: Knowledge of the production, communication and dissemination of information and ideas to inform and entertain via written, oral, visual media and social media.
- External Awareness: Understands and keeps up-to-date on local, national, and international policies and trends that affect the organization and shape stakeholders' views; is aware of the organization's impact on the external environment.

- Multimedia Technologies: Knowledge of the principles, methods, tools, and techniques to develop or apply technology using text, audio, graphics, or other media.
